For context: he used an AI “tool” to have the Eli character speak in his channel’s stead about the update. Here he’s expressing concern about the channel’s problems because of YouTube bs and might have to force him to make a new channel altogether.

When you use words that suggests there's a person inside there not just probabilities assigned to tokens, you move yourself and others further from understanding what these programs are, what they can do, and why they can do it, in favor of ghost stories and anthropomorphizing.

At the end of the day it feels like words like consciousness and intelligence (and many other terms used like reasoning, training, problem solving, art, creativity, the list goes on) are really being used to emotionally convey that they think LLMs are cool and do neat stuff.
