What better way to kick off the new year than with a lecture about our work at #Motya? On Jan 8th, I'll be talking about how we're using #archaeology and #remotesensing to reconstruct its urban plan and what it says about its designers and occupants. Online via Zoom www.penn.museum/calendar/375...

The most fun we have in digital archaeology class is during our collaborations with local orgs. We get to go outside and students get hands-on practice! This week we went to Bartram's Garden where we used geophysics to search for late 18th c. garden paths that could aid in their landscaping plans.
