Against my better judgment: The Computer

last week i spent a ridiculous amount of money on building a new gaming PC. here is a 1700-word sanity plea on why i decided to do this: lozravee.bearblog.dev/against-my-b...

Here’s something I could actually be considered to be qualified for: computer hardware.

it's quite ingenious really. how are people going to put their line in the sand about AI when all their favorite things will get in bed with it to chase the bag? i think the only answer to this predicament is tim sweeney getting poked at with a pitchfork for all eternity

the thing that suck about tim sweeney and his diarrhea forever machine is that everything ever nowadays needs a fortnite collab for some reason so creators need to wrestle with the easiest paycheck of all time that no publisher will ever turn down in exchange for diarrhea forever.

either that or it's gonna take so long for it to get to PC due to rockstar's trademark porting shenanigans that by then things will be more stabilized. or a smoldering crater. whichever comes first i guess.

people including me moaned about GTA 6 not getting an initial PC release but the truth is as soon as those spec requirements drop it's gonna be about as much of a bloodbath as it will releasing it on a $800 home console

while i enjoy the final fantasy resonance wine conceptually i do think it is but a pale shadow of the way final fantasy used to move, where lightning was modelling menswear for prada from the stately manor in valhalla where she conspired to kill her sister

the people who have co-opted the american firearm culture and the people who are spearheading the data center infrastructure are the same people. although i wouldn't be too shocked if we end up seeing an uptick in headlines about arson.

gun enthusiasts are anti-establishment as long as it doesn't affect their lives, their hobby, and their youtube channel where they shoot at mannequins at 300 FPS slow-mo

i'm sure lucia will be W goons and as soon as the model is ripped the animated tag in rule34 will be ruined for about a good three months, but one of the gfs from san andreas has a whole monster truck as her daily driver so the GTA waifu tierlist is gonna be a fierce one.

every steam workshop is filled with nothing but single-digit aged children doing roflcopter copypastas and every steam forum is filled with nothing but a far right harassment hub spawned from debates on whether "Mostly Positive" is still positive.

"don't ever click ads on pornhub" is now just general internet advice but i'd be lying if i said this hasn't been the case for several years before tiktok or even instagram.

as a McLaren hater i am unfortunately going to have to bring back the Sonic Was Never Good narrative.

000

anyway "racing game cabinets as karts" is such a fucking awesome idea. they still have the juice.

000

listen sega if you insist that the super versions of sonic characters are their own characters you're gonna have to deal with everyone calling the franchise furry dragonball z. that's just how it is on this bitch of a Mobius.

i feel like "no one knows what to do with call of duty" was a problem that started much earlier, some time after black ops. i remember back in the day when the lead MP dev for blops 2 started getting so many death threats after a popular sniper rifle got nerfed that he had to hire personal security.

oh my fujcing god he was eaten alive by crickets

windows defender decided two days later it didn't like what i was doing (100% false positive, unless this is somehow causing a memory leak which i'm pretty sure most tech giants stopped giving a fuck about years ago if chromium is any indicator)

immensely upset that hikage from senran kagura getting hit by a front yard ballas drive-by is lost to my old pc i need to recreate it some day
