Why would I? My registration doesn't change who I can vote for in the general. And as an independent, my primary ballot is this huge foldout that is blank except for one single district school board seat. By the time the general comes around, half of the races are already decided for local stuff.

Most, but not all, of Texas uses all human readable paper ballots. Those are audited even in realtime, and vote counting machines are air-gapped. Even if it's compromised they'll know during voting; they do batch audits to make sure the machine is counting correctly. Elon can't help this way.
