Day 269 of going to the gym Trainer cancelled today but I went anyway. I worked my shoulders and back and I feel it. I just kept imagining her voice “chest up, shoulders back!” She may have had an impact on me. #fitness #fitover50

Day 268 of going to the gym Debbie Downer once again today when news came that my 71 yo BIL had passed. I went to the gym anyway and remembered how much he loved to go, until he didn’t. I didn’t want to go but I went and did my workout. Sweated and now I’m just thankful I can! #fitover50

Day 267 of going to the gym I received news yesterday that someone I volunteer with unexpectedly passed away in their sleep. He was maybe in his 70’s. He was a delight! But it was a reminder that we aren’t promised any amount of time. Work and play each day like it’s the last. #fitover55

Day 266 days of going to the gym September was not a productive month and I am recommitting myself to doing better in October. The trainer reminded me today that one month doesn’t negate all the good I’ve done. Onward!! #fitness #fitover50

Day 265 of going to the gym I did it! I did lunges before leaving the house and then went to the gym and did a full leg day! It felt like the first time I put in real effort in a couple of weeks. I’m still in the game! #fitness #fitover50

Day 264 of going to the gym I came, I saw, I left. Well, not exactly. I came, I stretched, I used the sauna, I left. This counts, right? I’m counting it! #fitness #fitover50

Day 263 of going to the gym I’m back to the gym and it didn’t kill me. I didn’t want to go but I had a training session and I cancelled last week. After a week of depression, rather than packing in all of my accomplishments, I’m considering it a “week off.” Back to it! #fitness #fitover50

Day 262 of going to the gym I’m back at it this Monday morning. I’m the only one that can reset my timeline. I have zero desire to completely return to old patterns. Depression was hitting me hard but I’m bouncing back. #fitness #fitover55

I have officially fallen off the exercise wagon! I’ve spent the week completely miserable and trying to eat myself into a coma! What is happening?!

Day 261 of going to the gym Walking on the treadmill day. It felt so boring today. Everything was a bit boring today so I went home and slept all afternoon. Maybe my body was just trying to tell me something.

Day 260 of going to the gym I’m flying solo with my husband away for the next week so it feels even easier to skip the gym. I didn’t. I went. I guess it’s just a habit now. We still have a love-hate relationship! Me and the gym, not my husband. 🤣 #fitover50

Day 259 of going to the gym I did a smattering of everything today. I didn’t work hard and I didn’t cruise either. I just put in the time and some effort. Some days just roll that way. #fitness #fitover50

Day 258 of going to the gym Upper body and back work today. A year ago when the trainer said “squeeze your shoulder blades together” I did tried my best. Chest up and shoulders back became a mantra. I now can feel muscles squeezing together and that’s awesome. #fitness #fitover50

Day 257 of going to the gym Sunday is walking day! I actually look forward to walking for an hour on the treadmill. I look forward to the day that it isn’t too hot to walk outside but for now, the treadmill it is. #fitover50 #fitness

Day 256 of going to the gym I of my own accord and free will hereby chose to do sled and squats today. I then proceeded to round out my day with upper body and elliptical. What is wrong with me? Energy comes in bursts for sure! #fitness #fitover50

Day 255 of going to the gym I putzed around dragging my feet to get out the door today. Once at the gym I ended up doing a really good leg workout. Getting there is the mental battle I feel like matters the most. Obviously, I’m glad I went. #fitness #fitover50

Say 254 of going to the gym Today was scan day. Two months of my weight increasing but I’m gaining muscle and losing fat. Leaner and a bit meaner! Why am I so obsessed with the weight number when it isn’t telling me the story?? I am not trying to lose weight, I’m recomping!! My mantra. #fitness

Day 253 of going to the gym I went and walked 60 minutes on the treadmill today. Ironically, the weather was rainy and it felt like a do nothing day. I’m hoping the temps are starting to go down so I can push my granddaughter in her stroller. I’m just saying I was training for that today. #Fitness

Day 252 of going to the gym Arm workout day today and now they won’t stop shaking. I worked until they felt “spicy.” My knee is still rebelling from those lunges the other day. Lucky I’m just hitting a cool movie theater this afternoon. #fitness

Day 251 of going to the gym Today was a very short elliptical then assisted stretch day, but it counts! I started the morning with a cardiologist appt where she told me my heart is beautiful and perfect. So I earned a light gym day and a pumpkin coffee! #fitness

Day 250 days of going to the gym Today I finally was able to do lunges without the aid of anything to hold on to. I hate them even more now but at least I can do them. My heart also reminded how much I hate them but at least the legs got on board. Small milestones are still big wins. #fitness

Day 249 of going to the gym I seem to have plateaued in my weight loss so I I’m recommitting to some basics. I walked for 60 minutes on treadmill. I am also back to tracking everything. It isn’t forever, just until I feel like some progress has kicked in again. #fitness

Day 248 of going to the gym I have been struggling lately. Sometimes it’s sleep, getting up, desire to just do but I’m trying to roll with it. I did the elliptical, the stupid sled and squats, then walked . I’m trying to at least show up. Nobody said this whole “recomping” thing would be linear.

Day 247 of going to the gym Trainer and I worked on upper body today. Upon mentioning that never in my life ever even since childhood have I been able to do a pull-up, chin-up, or push-up, she said we should make pushups a goal. I have a big mouth and she is very witty! #fitness

Day 246 of going to the gym I had time to kill today while doggo was at the groomer so I chose the gym. No real goal or aim today, but I chose the gym over doing anything else, so that’s the win. Wins aren’t always quantifiable or specific but ya just know. #fitness

Day 245 of going to the gym I just did my 60 minutes on treadmill today. Yesterday is usually my treadmill day but I wasn’t feeling it. Wasn’t feeling it today either but I can do hard things. Glad I went as usual. Maybe I’m just not someone who will ever be psyched about the gym. 🤷‍♀️ #fitness

Day 244 of going to the gym All on my own unprompted by a trainer, I did squats and lunges today. I can almost do lunges without the aid of a pole. Sometimes the word “almost” can feel like I didn’t achieve the goal. In this case, it’s huge! It feels like I’m getting there! #fitness

Day 243 of going to the gym I worked me some upper body today. Then I had an assisted stretch right after. I do feel like I’m gaining some flexibility in my shoulders. Keep in mind, I’m not flexible yet. I have just “gained some flexibility.” Little strides I guess. #fitness

Day 240 of going to the gym Went to work on some upper body today. I ended up being there for 1.5 hours. I pushed that stupid (yes stupid) sled for like 3 passes. I hate that thing. I think this means I don’t have to look at it again for at least two weeks. Pretty sure that’s a rule. #fitover50

Day 239 of going to the gym Didn’t want to go. You know the drill, had errands to run, yada, yada, yada. I went, got there late. My legs we very sore already. I walked on treadmill then had a stretch session. Ouch! Did some elliptical and came home to sit on my vibration plate. ✅ #fitover50

Day 238 of going to the gym I worked really hard with trainer today. Yep it was leg day. Compared to this time last year, my legs have gotten really strong! I still hate lunges, but at least I can do them now without falling over. That’s how I chart progress. 😂 #fitover50 #fitafter55

Day 237 of going to the gym I went with a plan today. I worked the back and chest today and earned myself a rest day tomorrow. Rest day just means no gym because watching my 8 month old granddaughter certainly doesn’t mean “rest.” #Fitafter55 #fitness

Day 236 of going to the gym I always walk for 60 minutes on Sundays. Lately I have just been trying to push speed. Today I just monitored my HR zones and mostly spent the time in Zone 2. I just needed to listen to my body today and that’s ok! #fitafter50 #fitover55

Day 235 of going to the gym Workouts have felt flat lately and I have also felt scattered. After warming up today, I just did those e-machines that measure strength. It’s been so long, I found I’m actually a lot stronger!! Good way to start August. To new beginnings! #fitness #fitafter50

Day 234 of going to the gym I am on Day 5 of a headache that feels like pressure all over my head! I went to the gym and did a mishmash of things only because I had an assisted stretch scheduled. Turns out, I’m locked everywhere! The world has seeped into my body I’m afraid.

Day 233 days of going to the gym I started this day with a terrible headache. I proceeded with my day as usual. No headache relief. Went to a training session and she showed me mercy. Just did an easy leg day and came home and napped. Still have a headache but pushing through is also a win for me.

Day 232 of going to the gym Stella got her groove back today! I worked my upper body and did 30 minutes on the elliptical. Maintaining routine is my most important thing to remember. Once something interrupts that, I start to implode. I need to really work flexibility, in many ways. #fitover50

Day 231 of going to the gym I skipped 2 days of gym workouts because I just didn’t want to go. Today was back and I still had to remind myself that in an hour or so I’d be done. There should be a word for, “I don’t feel like it, but it’ll be over soon and I’ll be glad I did it” feeling. I need one.

Day 230 of going to the gym Really didn’t want to go today but had a scheduled stretch so had a reason to get there. I ended doing up doing a really great lower body workout! It felt great and I even came home and cleaned. One small thing leads to another! #fitness #fitover50

Day 229 of going to the gym We worked some upper body and abs today. Although it didn’t appear busy at the gym, it seemed impossible to find the right dumbbells. Trainer says people take them. Really? Do we need bar codes on these things and scanners on the way out of the gym? Geez! #fitness

Day 228 of going to the gym I’ve been all over the place emotionally lately. Up and down and just overall discombobulated! I walked today at the gym for an hour. It is the first bit of normalcy I have had all week! Why is my first reaction to stress always the wrong one? Just show up and I’m better.

Day 227 of going to the gym I opened up the app where my trainer posted a very unrealistic workout for me. I closed it and did what I wanted. Worked my arms and back and then had a good stretch session. I have to be me! #fitness #fitover50
