Having visited on Sunday, sadly the @mediamuseum.bsky.social is below par. The Eurovision ‘exhibition’ is barely more than a few AV clips you could watch on YouTube.

People are always trying to entice introverts out of their comfort zone and "let their hair down" a little. Why doesn't anyone ever ask extroverts to calm down and shut the fuck up for a few minutes?

@tpexpress.bsky.social 13:20 from York. You appear to have double-booked my reserved seat. The lady in mine appears to have the same seat on her ticket. Never any ticket inspectors when you actually need them.

Fair play to John Healey, who managed to time his 5.5-week break from government to coincide exactly with the World Cup

The licence fee is the biggest bargain in the UK. Not only do you get dozens of TV channels, radio stations, websites, apps, educational resources etc but it supports the infrastructure that enables all terrestrial TV.

The conversation between Ann Widdecombe and St Peter at the Pearly Gates will be similar to a manager boll%%king their PA for sending out a letter without first getting content approval.

It's unfair to say that tobacco companies, fossil fuel investment vehicles, crypto billionaires and Russian oligarchs can't be altruistic. Look at the millions they give to Nigel Farage, out of pure kindness, expecting nothing in return.

All cars should be no bigger than Smart cars and have a max speed of 25mph. I don't propose this out of environmental or safety concerns, I just think it would be funny and upset a lot of people I don't like.

On the bus. Someone playing music from the back seat. Older bloke a few rows down starts looking round, ready to snap. Realises the culprit is a slightly larger bloke. Suddenly learns to tolerate it.

We said goodbye to Suzie, our sweet girl, on Friday. We are utterly heartbroken. Identifying the grief stages (ie anger) she trying to not let them damage the future. I miss her so much, and I’ve never cried this much for anything.

A white British father and son BOTH raped the same child and pled guilty to multiple counts of Sexual assault. This has been in the press for 2 days. The Mirror is the only National newspaper to report on it… And THAT’s why people have such a skewed perception of the links between race and SA🤷🏼‍♀️

Let me check I’ve got this right. Someone calling for entirely innocent foreign-born people to be burned alive at a time of serious social unrest is a free speech champion who must be feted. And some calling them & their hideous promoters in politics & media racist is a menace who must be silenced.

The RIAA wanted thousands in damages for someone sharing an MP3, let's hope those same level of figures are applied to AI companies. An entire industry based on massive copyright infringement. If paying for content breaks your business model, then tough, you deserve to fail.

Banned today from the Facebook group “The Sign Shrine”, usually a nice trivial corner of social media where people post photos of daft signs. Today, a page admin posted a pro-Reform post full of the cliches that lot are propagating. It appears that he didn’t like my comment. The world is broken.

The budget meeting in Newcastle got rather unpleasant last night. Cllr Frew wondered why a LibDem cllr was temporarily not sitting with their group. Interesting question; it was never explained why Frew’s then-employer, Nick Brown, was suspended from Labour. @danielholland.bsky.social ?

Saturday night takeaway and two very different films. Don’t Breathe 2; fun sequel which won me with an extended continuous shot like the egg scene in Games Night. Medicine for Melancholy (2008, Jenkins); cute little film exploring identities, and celebrating indie music (credit to the credits).

@marcusbrig.bsky.social Re latest ‘HWIFY?’ I worked for Jessops (early 2000s); we’d prepare for the sales like a military operation in the closing hours of Xmas Eve. We’d slip the paper with sale prices behind the current prices, so on Boxing Day we just had to run round and whip out the old slips.
