Opinion | Will Texas turn blue? Here’s what voters told me at a Buc-ee’s.
Talarico leads Paxton, while a Democrat has also made the governor’s race competitive.

I let these pollsters know I am MAGA and culture wars are my biggest issue. Also, I only use Facebook and watch paramount plus and cable news please put more culture war adds there.

Who decides what qualifies as a push alert and why are they the way that they are. . .

I bet sports betting becoming mainstream has something do to with this. Life gets dramatically tougher if you're losing hundreds of dollars a month on fanduel.

Ok whatever you say piss baby- as long as you please use a more effective message when trying to persuade voters.

Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
Ok but we are still not saying vote blue no matter who anymore. TIA
010
Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
vote blue no matter who is not a compelling reason to vote for Dems- if it was we would have won the election. Piss in my ass and pick a different slogan.

Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
Yes! We pleaded that Trump will be worse (and we were right). It doesn't matter because we lost the election. Let's do something different- and give people a more compelling reason to leave the house. Maybe bolder policy or being relentlessly on message would have helped idk but we aren't doing VBNW

Ok midterms are coming up and I am begging you all to pick a slogan that emphasizes what we stand for. Primary for 2028 starts November 3.

Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
I will be voting for Dem candidates but I am not the person we need to win over I am an engaged and politically active. Pick a slogan that says clearly what we stand for and use it, and stop using using VBNW

Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
Yea I'm begging politician to stop trying to play it safe and play to the middle and ignore these people cutting down other Dems.
010
Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
I mean sure, how about we say "vote blue to eat the billionaires" or "vote blue for the Medicare for all" or "vote blue for high speed rail" we have to clearly stand for something and not just be against them.
010
Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
Ok Alex, Clearly people need to be won over- Dems loosing so many elections is proof that it's not working.
130
Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
I disagree wholeheartedly- anything would be better than VBNW. Highlight litterally any policy proposal instead

Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
The Palestinians in Michigan heard you all saying blue no matter who for 80 days and did not vote blue, because Kamala would not separate herself from Bidens policy on Israel. If telling people this worked even in the slightest- Kamala wouldn't have lost Michigan

Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
Loosing the 2016 and 2024 election should be proof enough- do we want to keep doing the same thing and keep loosing?
200
Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
No it discourages people from going to the polls. Apathy is paralyzing, it won't lead to action.

Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
Maybeeeeee . . . but I doubt it.
000
Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
Yes I don't disagree. . . . spamming posts about "we are the party of just OK people. . ." Just because it rhymes. Will not encourage anyone to drive to a polling place.

Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
Looking forward to it- it starts November 3.

Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
Focus on voting and supporting Dems with backbones and bold big picture ideas and not trying spend time to goading people into voting for a mediocre twat. (Who we need to win, but for the love of god lets all focus on something actionable, concrete and positive)
010
Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
People push back on it becuase it sounds illogical and cultish and is harming voter turnout not helping.
210
Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
Right. . . BUT just imagine we all spend our time highlighting and championing bold big-picture policy proposals. It would be more effective than a Dem circle jerk of vote blue no matter who.
300
Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
Anything- really- if we all got together and commented "vote blue for no data centers" that would be exponentially more effect (as much as comments on the internet can be effective)
100
Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
Ok but this one has proven to be harmful- I'm begging you all to pick a different one.

Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
If you are mistrustful of Dems- having people chanting "vote blue no matter who" at you is not going to win you over. If you saw a bunch of people saying "vote red no matter who" While not rhyming- you just dismiss them as maga cultists.

Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
Saying it over and over lowers enthusiasm and hurts voter turnout. The people who like hearing it said are already squarely in your camp already. Pick a better and more empowering/activating message to tweet if you want to be helpful.
330
Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
You have to run on something other than the other guys are worse than we are. No one wants to stand in line to vote for the lesser of two evils they are going to stay home and election hinges on turnout. Give people a reason to vote and we stone anyone who says "vote blue, no matter who"
220
Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
I'm saying it's a not a effective political message to increase political engagement or voter turnout. If anything it is actively harmful, and don't say it.
120
Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
it's like admitting that you are ok with a subpar canidate and if people think that even the supporters- think it's a subpar canidate- then the distrustful or undecided voter isn't going to go out of their way to vote for them!
200
Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
The only people who enjoy hearing "vote blue, no matter who" are the highly engauged people sitting squarely within the party. It's not a winning message, and definitely not a motivating message to get people to take the action of voting. This isn't it.

Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
If telling people "vote blue, no matter who" was even the tiniest bit effective we would have won these elections. If anything it is harmful to the cause, stop saying it.

Voters will tell you what they think of your candidate and running around telling them to vote anyway because the other is worse has probably turned more people away from the cause.
000
Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
I think we need to get a block list started for anyone who says vote blue no matter who in the next two years. Unhelpful and unconvincing waste of everyone's time
110
Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 29/07/2026
Lot of voters see the Democrats as no better- hearing this probably encourages them to stay home.
000
Joe @jpbren2.bsky.social · 29/07/2026
A lot of people said this in 2016 and 2020 and 2024 and every election in between. If posts like this helped increase voter turnout we wouldn't be here. . .
