On a Mission from God... kinda vibes

Wow, I've learned @drdagly.bsky.social passed on Sunday, doing what he loved, intense, mountain bike trail riding. Shocked, I know we're all mortal but Darren was one of the larger than life people that inspired at every turn, even sitting by the fire with Mr. Hobbs. You are loved & will be missed💔.

Darren Markland doing one of the many things he loved, intensely riding, probably racing on mountain bike trails. Gone way too soon, larger than life and always inspiring. #Grateful for all you did, how you lived and touched the lives of so many.

Bike Lane progress here in Edmonton, it's an interesting process that they removed that much asphalt? Probably there is a limited choice of width on the grinders(?) use to remove the old pavement. These lanes could be up and open in a few weeks? Idk the work schedule for the crews.

Bike lanes under construction, there was a wide layer of asphalt removed and now the cement has been poured and set. Great progress!

Bike Lane construction happening faster that I thought! Getting rid of all the parked car space and putting it to good use in Bike Lanes. Thank-you @cityofedmonton.bsky.social

The asphalt on the street has been stripped away and the outline for future protected bike lane on 113th Street is visible. Yeah!!!

Better post this before I forget! I made my first ever winter visit to @coffeeoutside.bsky.social thanks to winning winter bike tires from @bikeedmonton.bsky.social Thanks! I'm loving the tires and learning the technical skills of riding on snowy streets!

Success, the first winter ride on sidewalks and some street crossings on the bike is complete. I had to focus, but the winter tires are just different and work like magic! I installed the tires myself, easier than expected! @bikeedmonton.bsky.social

My good old bike, but with winter tires. I had a successful first ride!

Braved todays cold -18 C to get my winter bike tires, so I don't have to brave tomorrow's cold and snowstorm to get them. Thanks @bikeedmonton.bsky.social and @cityofedmonton.bsky.social for this contest to give people a chance to have won tires for winter cycling! ❄️🥳

Selfie at Bike Edmonton with my Winter Bike tires! Won them in a contest. I braved the walk in chilly temperatures to get there, I'm very happy to get them!

Maybe it's my "Bicycle Brain" but this signage says bike parking to me! I love the idea of stores and libraries using this! Other businesses following suit and building up better bike parking infrastructure!

I'm sure we're not talking about the same dead heroes, but I'll always cringe seeing how much FoxNews cool-aid John Roberts has consumed... This was JD Roberts in the early 1980s.

Then known as JD Roberts on CityTV's The New Music in the early 1980s. Shown here talking with Freddie Mercury of Queen!

I liked the sentiment of intended summer reading that became fall reading, idk if that was your intention. Here we have a few new and used, including a random fiction I'm determined to read.

Just stealing this from Twitter and sharing it here cause it has a great vibe. Really all I have to say. Though I'll fill in the alt text.

Cozy coffee shop setting looking out a rain splattered window to the calm narrow street and sidewalks. Charm of a low-car environment.
