I'm a #piano music fanatic, but a very new beginner at the keys. I recorded this work in progress yesterday. Today, I work on the Petzold Minuet in G minor.

Clementine. She has been blocking the heater with her entire body, but today I waited until she was warm enough to sprawl out and share the heater while I meditate. #pugs

Here Clementine lays on her side in front of the space heater, using the edge of my meditation cushion as a pillow.

I understand that it's out of fashion to share TED talks any more, but this one's special. As someone in the comments quips, "This guy could excite me about an empty bucket." What's he excited about? Classical music. 1000% wish this guy had been my music teacher. #piano

Daily Clementine. This was 11 years ago, Wonder Puggy's first Halloween. Whenever I look at her face, my whole being goes gooey. #pugsofbluesky #dogsofbluesky Repost to correct errors because, no edit button. 🙄

This is baby Clementine, a fawn pug with a perfect black wrinkly-face sitting in a pet stroller wearing a Wonder Woman Halloween costume.

I have an unhelpful belief that says social anxiety disorder makes me a massive burden and I should crawl under a rock and die. I love Mayim Bialik's empathy & her philosophy on having this condition. Having a sense of humor about it, instead of feeling shame and trying to hide, feels healing.

Clementine sleeps on the couch, with her smooshy face more smooshy than usual. Her blep is tiny but mighty.

This is what my #piano obsession often looks like. Yesterday's haul from the Juilliard store (they're having a Black Friday sale). My new ragtime library (titles in the ALT). Henle is also having a sale on their purchase credits (25%).

Ragtime books, from Grade 1 to infinity. There are Martha Mier Jazz, Rags, and Blues (1-4), Faber Bigtime Ragtime (4), Alfred's Ragtime Classics, William Albright's Dream Rags, and William Bolcom's Complete Rags for Piano.

So far, my #piano posts have been pieces I'll likely never play. I've been taking piano lessons for just a few months so I don't have any videos I'm proud of yet to post. But this piece is on my wish list, and I believe it will be within reach in a year or so. It's my favorite CPE Bach, La Caroline.

Book of the day: The Piano Tuner by Chiang-Sheng Kuo (that's the spelling on the cover I'm afraid). The piano facts are not 100%, but I like the story: "A journey of self-discovery across time and continents, from a dark apartment in Taipei's red light district to snow-clad New York."

Book cover for The Piano Tuner by Chiang-Sheng Kuo. Against a cloudy blue sky stands a woman in 1/4 view with her back to the viewer. She's wearing a sleeveless black dress and her dark hair is in a formal up-do style.

Life tip: stop giving a fuck about what people think of you. Not everyone is or will be your true friend. Love who & whatever you want to love without holding back. You only get one life in this world. Don’t waste it stuck on other’s opinion of you. That doesn’t matter. Do what makes YOU happy. ✨❤️🤝🏻🫡
