I am now of a certain age. Where there are kids at work with relationship issues. Where *I* have kids. With relationship issues. Where I <gulp> may have lived experience / ad...advice. , Or I'm at least expected to at this point? . Humans haven't really change much, have they? 5k years, same story.

Scooby survival (Supernatural Buffy etc survival): if you're in the dark and you hear something turn on every light you can everywhere. Especially don't wander around your house in darkness - light it up. You'll see it coming, scare it off, or know (if lights don't work) something BAD's happening.

Take: Trump and Biden are the same. Old guys in decline elected because they're easy to manipulate. Hillary and Kamala had spine; the money behind the politics ran the numbers and they cost more to influence (read: buy). Weak candidates are like black Fri deals; better product passed up

Tiny gripe: websites titled "How to do " [something] that lead with an often online-recipe-worthy explanation of *why* you should do the [something]. Is it an algo thing? Because if I'm on a site titled "how to", I probably don't need further persuasion on the why :)

At what point is debt not real? If I carry a $3k balance on a credit card for 10 years, clearly the lender is perfectly fine with/o $3k and just the fees. If a country carries a balance for 50 years, how is that different than ignoring the debt and just paying the lenders the fees as a wage?

AFAIK, there is a very decent body of research that suggests plants communicate with each other through the soil, via chemical signaling, and that there is a lot of chatter in the florasphere. I sometimes wonder if it's a cruelty to keep potted plants. Alone. Isolated. Like a lone guinea pig.

The joke of smartphones is they can do anything except make an actual voice phone call. I'm not amused anymore. Mostly because when someone is calling me (that is not a scammer/spammer), it's usually urgent and/or un-textable. The worst time for a call to not work.
