Also, pub has become much more of a community pub. Every time am in there I see a neighbour. Weirdly I never went there pre LTN because it was the other side of a busy road and this out of my mental orbit. It’s lovely.

Last night, conservatively, 70 students in all varieties of drag were wobbling down the LTN to the Donnington Arms. Safely. It was joyous. LTNs appear to be good for this small business, last night.

Ah I knew the students were back when the Donnie Arms was full of suspiciously young people in drag athleisure….. unless I’ve missed a fashion trend?!

Genuinely considered driving today. Big meeting, etc. but put jacket and the second half of my makeup in waterproof pannier and zoomed past the traffic. Dry under my waterproofs. Not bad. #Onelesscartrip

Little ones. I should have put them in last month really. You can harvest at Christmas. I’m hoping for a warm autumn www.rhs.org.uk/vegetables/p...

Rain!!! It’s a beautiful sound. And I planted winter potatoes and relocated strawberries at the weekend so that was absolutely perfect timing. Thanks Mother Nature, I had zero time to water this week…
Two trenches or winter potatoes next to some sunflowers which have gone slightly over (but the bees still love them)

I wrote a thing, with the incredible @slashnburnett.bsky.social , Amandine, (not on bluesky) and photographer Roger Close. I've been growing food and canning for years, but good canning reference points are hard to come by in the UK. I hope this helps/ you enjoy.

Why is this stuff so hard for the Tories to understand?

We were told that Caper Books, which has a huge selection of children's books, opened *after* the installation of the Low Traffic Neighborhood. Safe streets are good for business!

Who takes buses? Not Tories apparently. Fighting for decent bus lanes is fighting for equity. Faster buses cleaner air. That’s worth campaigning for.

I have just made a toastie with lavash bread (because, Cowley Road) and it is incredible. Toastie goes extra crispy and all the texture sort of scoops up the filling. Makes for a terrible picture so you will have to take my word for it. Next level.

It is a sign of just how much Oxfordshire transport has come on that I am on a diesel bus with no handy USB charging and am quite annoyed about it 😂 Also the bus was early.

Speaking at #LDConf on the regulation of e-bikes. This isn’t complicated. The legislation simply needs to catch up with the advance in technology on the ground. Good e-bikes good, bad e-bikes bad. Glad to say we voted to support this motion. How very sensible.
Am on a stage again. Turns out it’s easier second time out.

Sometimes it’s important to literally stand up for what you believe in. And today it was telling the story of the development of active travel in Oxford (even if it was terrifying). I hope more councils can follow suit. #ldconf

I got a bucket of potatoes out of two beds where normally I’d have got five. They’re tiny. And I watered them. But they needed rain. It’s depressing.
