Today’s poem celebrates Fibonacci Day. It’s called ‘Word Crunching’.

Word Crunching

I
wrote
a poem
on a page
but then each line grew
to the word sum of the previous two
until I began to worry about all these words coming with such frequency
because as you can see, it can be easy to run out of space when a poem gets all Fibonacci sequency

Very much worth 10 minutes of your time to listen to the ever sound musings of @realgeoffbarton.bsky.social, with a run down of 10 things the Oracy Education Commission have learnt since their launch. The jingles too - chef’s kiss. Complex issues but not impossible. open.spotify.com/episode/3ZDd...

YES to so much of this article. “We don’t have to pit consistency against fun, or rigour against engagement, or high standards against creativity and community.” Tamsin Frances from @TedWraggTrust

As Skills Minister Jacqui Smith says: "We need to make sure that young people are able to express themselves and to engage in discussion and debate. That is why we welcome the work that the #Oracy Commission have carried out in this important area" (18/11/24): hansard.parliament.uk/lords/2024-1...

Excited to be publishing a major piece of teacher, parent and student opinion research on the ever-challenging subject of exclusions. Thanks to the support of @mission44, we were able to carry out what was, I think, the ever biggest exercise of its kind on this subject. 1/10
