I hate that @ms.now producers make a premier journalist such as @velshi.com work the tactical board. It's an important job, and @stevekornacki.bluesky.bot was the GOAT, but the value Velshi brings is in an arena entirely outside this. Find a new, camera friendly data wonk and focus the talent.

Those folks feel, no doubt, incredibly trapped and helpless. They've disappointed their spouses and kids. Where, before, they could work some financial magic act to pull the rabbit out, now they are out of options to live any semblance of the life they though they earned. THAT's the talking point.

The general talking point about gas prices needs adjusting. Yeah, it's high. And many of us just kind of take it on the chin. Instead, talk about the folks that actually are thinking about and making the calculation to skip a trip they wanted because they can no longer afford it. Dig into THAT.
