Finally in active development! Megacity adventures for Ironsworn: Starforged. My overly optimistic 2025 is more realistically 2026, but I'll start some previews and playtests this year. The title is now TBD as there have been a few TTRPG-related "Crucible" things in the interim. I snooze, I lose.

This Sunday I continue my solo playthrough of @shawntomkin.bsky.social's Starforged #TTRPG! My hero is in the middle of time looping shenanigans that have turned rather murderous. I wonder what the repercussions will be as they also remember what happens every loop... 🫣

Mucking around testing some laser marking on brass coins today. I bit of testing out processes and ideas to see what can be done consistently and what they might be useful for... The Ironsworn TTRP In Control/Bad Spot has been one in my mind for a while now. The heavy brass coin really suits this.

Of the 104K words I wrote for Ironsworn: Starforged, "Prep is Play" is my favorite phrase. Also, how lovely is this @joshmeehanart.bsky.social illustration? Perfectly evokes the hardscrabble vibes of a backwater settlement in the Forge. #ttrpg

An image of two facing pages in the Ironsworn: Starforged rulebook. On the left, an illustration shows a ship launching from a platform structure amid a green-gray sea.

On the right, the text reads:

PREP IS PLAY
Starforged is designed for jump-in gameplay. Whether you are playing solo, teaming up with other players for a co-op campaign, or facilitating a game as the guide, you don’t need to prepare for a session. Instead, you can pick up where you left off and play to see what happens.
These exercises are the exception. Using them, you create a foundation of setting, character, and narrative opportunities. Then, you build on that foundation through play. This initial investment of time and creative energy is narrative momentum for your imagined world.
Also, here’s a secret: You’re already playing the game. What you’ll do through the course of these exercises—make decisions based on established fiction, consult oracles, interpret creative prompts, envision people, places, and situations—is all part of playing Starforged.
In short, these exercises should be fun. They should spark your creativity. They should make you excited about diving into the world you’ve created. If anything feels like work, skip it or take a shortcut and move on.

I recently recieved my contributor copy of Cthulhu by Gaslight: Investigators' Guide! I had the pleasure to paint several pieces of art in the book including these!

a page from Cthulhu by Gaslight: Investigators' Guide showcasing an art piece of a sea beast beached on the shoreline, a group of 3 men investigate the mangled abomination at the early monrning.

a full page illustration from Cthulhu by Gaslight: Investigators' Guide. The RMS Majestic on a voyage across the Atlantic Ocean is bathed in green light, as it cuts through forboding waves. Portents of the horrors to come.

The rising of twin full moons above the Sundered Isles is a rare event, full of portent. But are the omens fair or foul? Sundered Isles is an in-development supplement of seafaring adventure for the Ironsworn: Starforged TTRPG. Lovely art by @joshmeehanart.bsky.social.

A ship sails at night over a tranquil sea. In the background, clouds part to reveal two full moons: one silver-blue, one a warm red.

An idyllic cliffside village and the world's greatest white noise machine are the highlights of this latest Sundered Isles art by @joshmeehanart.bsky.social. Sundered Isles is an in-development supplement of seafaring adventure for the Ironsworn: Starforged TTRPG.

Gracefully designed buildings sit at the edge of a cliff, flanking a tall waterfall. In the background, an even larger waterfall sends up clouds of mist. In the foreground, ships cruise a turquoise bay and two characters study the settlement from a shadowed beach.

Some glimpses of the Sundered Isles, a world of seafaring adventure for the Ironsworn: Starforged tabletop roleplaying game. Available this year (hopefully!) Art by Joshua Meehan

An illustration of a person on a beach with a raised lantern. In the distance, a titanic squid/whale creature breaches a dark ocean.

An illustration of a character wielding a flintlock pistol and sword, standing amid the flames of a burning town.

An illustration of a monstrous crab rising from a river or ocean channel. In the foreground, two characters navigate a rowboat that is dwarfed by the giant crustacean.
