In an airport, listening to the rest of that Unwound record. Don't ask me anything.

I thought the studio was MagRecOne because it was "magnetic recording?"

This, but with John Carpenter's "Halloween Theme" playing in the background.

I wouldn't have thought of the Monorchid, but now that they mention it, I can see the comparison!

That thought was around, but I figured I'd try to make it more universal.

I think "because it was there" is part of the definition of pop music, so it really comes down to your preference. Either way I can't see how that equals a lack of knowledge or exposure.

000

I.e. you're trying to tell me I shouldn't enjoy pop music

100

I'm saying your skeet is on that level of punks who would tell me the Beatles sucked

Chicken on the mattress/ Vagrant on the highway/ Tooth out on the front porch/ Glitter on the highway (unrelated)

It took me nine months to get to the chorus, go for it

Next you're gonna tell me people who like the Beatles need to broaden their horizons

The blood shack/ is a little ol' place where/ we can get dis-mem-bered

Even this day.

They make other ones?

Honestly I think there's stuff to like all the way through A Senile Animal (there might be more after but they started putting out like three four records a year and I lost track)

010

While I prefer Lysol to these, it means we have the same preference in lineup

So, not James Adomian? Cos I think that's on his old record.

Friend of mine told me that her kid wanted to travel multistate to see Miracle Legion play because of this show. We met because I had a Pete & Pete username on AIM. I think we're both proud of that kid.

I opted to go 10"ers - Black Market Clash, Sebadoh's Secret EP, GodCo. Later if I'm feeling it I might go back for Helmet's Betty on a double 10.

It's the perfect record for approximately 3/4 of moods

Regardless of Ayodade's other bullshit, his I-don't-want-to-be-here schtick is really bugging me. Everyone else is fantastic, though, so I'm getting through it. And Chloe is definitely my "I get you" contestant this time!

I was figuring, since he and Ed remain "friends," it was the pay for the whole tour. These are stadium shows, 27 dates in North America, so it didn't really ring any alarm bells for me. Also don't know if he has a huge crew if he doesn't have a live band.

JoshD @joshd.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

I thought it was what he'd gotten paid for the tour

Macca can go on and on about how he was the real avant garde Beatle, and in ways he's right, but he never went as hard on skronk noise guitar as John did here. Also shout out to proto-Krautrock Ringo.

You can’t have it both ways. You can’t be “It’s simple math, vote blue no matter who, grow up” and ALSO believe you are fighting fascism by making calculations as to who’s expendable. The world we’re in now demands more from us. More from everyone.

The best line in the entire show, one of the best lines ever. His delivery lives in my head forever.

I think NewsRadio is the best sitcom ever. It made Andy Dick and Joe Rogan more than bearable, the rest of the cast was absolute aces, and when Phil Hartman tragically passed, the writers realized they had Stephen Root right there all along.

I think my girlfriend might actually dump me if I did this, and I wouldn't blame her.
