The heart refuses to believe that on the very same day, I lost two people who shaped my world: Mendy kinn, a lad I had the privilege to mentor, and Professer Gideon kutz, the brilliant journalist and mentor who taught me so much.
To lose both the one you guided and the one who guided you in a single breath is a heartbreak beyond words. Thank you both for everything you gave to my life. May your memories forever be a blessing.

"I’ve been asked a lot recently why I skipped my graduation at University of Salford International and why I’ve been feeling so low. It’s time to be honest. I feel deeply undervalued. I sacrificed a lot—including delaying my original graduation date in December to give lectures for International Disability Awareness Month—because I believed in the potential of my studies.
I joined the University of Salford’s Master’s program with the explicit goal of entering mainstream media. I was promised support that never materialized. While I had some wonderful teachers like, Dr. Taylor Umland , Debbie Manley , Lyndon Saunders , leadership in the Journalism department failed to deliver on promises regarding placements, and I’ve felt invisible to the university’s media team while they highlight the achievements of others. It’s hard to feel that the investment I made in my future hasn't been recognized.
The last few months have been tough between changes at מעריב אונליין Maariv Online and a difficult incident at Voice of the People . But I’m choosing to turn the page. After an inspiring meeting with a VOP mentor this morning, I’m feeling energized and ready to reclaim my path. Salford, you may have hurt my feelings, but I am not defined by your validation. This weekend, the depression hit hard, making even the smallest tasks feel impossible. It’s isolating when people don’t understand, but I’m holding onto the fact that what goes down must come back up. For now, I’m just focused on riding the wave until it turns. If you’re struggling too, know you’re not alone and you’re doing enough just by surviving.

Just back from three intense days speaking at and covering the Conference of European Rabbis in Munich. There is a unique energy in a room full of Rabbis listening to your every word. It seems journalists and Rabbis share one trait: neither of us ever rests.

To my friends and neighbors in Crumpsall,
Tomorrow is election day, and for the first time in my life, I find myself unable to cast a vote for any of the candidates on the ballot. As a dual British-Israeli national and a longtime member of the Labour Party, this isn’t a decision I take lightly. It is a decision born of deep hurt and a sense of political abandonment.
The Heaton Park Wound
Only seven months ago, our community was shattered by the antisemitic terrorist attack at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation. We lost Melvin Cravitz and Adrian Daulby—brave men who were simply at prayer on Yom Kippur. This wasn’t a "political event"; it was a trauma that hit the heart of our Jewish and Israeli community right here in Manchester.
The Labour Party Failings
I joined Labour because of its values of equality and protection for all. But when our local candidate signs pledges that feel dismissive of the complexity of our identity—or worse, ignores the specific fears of the Jewish community after an attack on our doorstep—that trust is broken. I cannot vote for a representative who seems more interested in international slogans than in the safety and inclusion of his own constituents.
The "Alternatives"
Reform UK:It is beyond a joke that a man living among us, who has been openly pro-Gaza and has a history of antisemitic rhetoric, is now standing for a party that claims to represent "British values." Whether he was a Conservative last year or Reform today, his views remain a direct threat to the safety and belonging of the Jewish and Israeli community here. The rhetoric surrounding this campaign has felt divisive and has veered into territory that is deeply uncomfortable for anyone who values a pluralistic Britain.
The Rest: From the Workers Party to the Greens, the focus feels skewed. In a ward where we need healing and local security, we are being offered ideological battlegrounds rather than community leadership.

Last week was for mourning my mother-in-law, and this week is for celebrating my new nephew. The circle of life in its purest form. A heartfelt thank you to my friend Roni, spokeswoman for the Diaspora Ministry, for praying for our family at the Western Wall last night. Having our loss and our new joy remembered in such a sacred place means the world to us.

I was set to fly to Germany tomorrow, but I’ve had to cancel. The organizers covered the flight but expected me to pay for the hotel myself, which I simply can’t do. It is especially disappointing as I was planning to use the trip as a mini-break after a tough week losing my mother-in-law. Now the organizers are upset with me, but the logistics just weren't right.

Life Comes at You Fast: Family First, Always
Yesterday morning, I touched down in Belgium, ready to dive into a two-day EJA (European Jewish Association) conference dedicated to the critical fight against antisemitism. The energy was high, the agenda was vital, and I was fully prepared to engage with leaders and activists on some of the most pressing issues facing our community today.
But life has a way of shifting your perspective in a single heartbeat.
The Call No One Wants to Get
Shortly after arriving, I received a phone call that changed everything. I learned that a close relative had become critically ill. In that moment, the policy discussions and keynote speeches faded into the background.
There wasn't a second thought or a moment of hesitation. I headed straight back to the airport and caught the first flight home.
Why I’m Sharing This
It’s easy to get caught up in our professional missions and the "grind" of advocacy, but moments like these serve as a jarring reminder of what truly anchors us.
Advocacy is vital, but it’s fueled by the very people we love.
Family isn't just a priority; it is the foundation.
Work can wait, but being there for your loved ones in their hour of need cannot.

My heart is still with the EJA and the important work being done in Belgium right now, and I am grateful for their understanding. For now, my place is here, at home, with my family.

אתמול בבוקר נחתי בבלגיה, מוכן לצלול לכנס בן יומיים של EJA (האגודה היהודית האירופית) המוקדש למאבק הקריטי באנטישמיות. האנרגיה הייתה גבוהה, סדר היום היה חיוני, והייתי מוכן לחלוטין לשתף פעולה עם מנהיגים ופעילים בכמה מהנושאים הדוחקים ביותר העומדים בפני הקהילה שלנו כיום.

השיחה שאף אחד לא רוצה לקבל
זמן קצר לאחר שהגעתי, קיבלתי שיחת טלפון ששינתה הכל. נודע לי שקרוב משפחה קרוב חלה אנושות. באותו רגע, דיוני המדיניות והנאומים המרכזיים נמוגו אל הרקע.
לא הייתה מחשבה שנייה או רגע של היסוס. חזרתי ישר לשדה התעופה ותפסתי את הטיסה הראשונה הביתה.
למה אני משתף את זה
קל להיסחף למשימות המקצועיות שלנו ול"טחינה" של הסנגוריה, אבל רגעים כאלה משמשים תזכורת צורמת למה שבאמת מעגן אותנו.
פעילות הסברה היא חיונית, אך היא מונעת על ידי האנשים שאנחנו אוהבים. משפחה אינה רק בראש סדר העדיפויות; היא הבסיס. עבודה יכולה לחכות, אבל להיות שם עבור יקירכם בשעת צרה לא יכולה. "משפחה אינה דבר חשוב. היא הכל." - מייקל ג'יי פוקס

As a Journalist I’d love to be in the barber’s chair every seven days to keep the fade fresh, but reality hits different. Staying sharp on a budget is the real investigative work.

What a wild start to Pesach. I was ill with my stomach issues for the first two days, and just as I recovered, Esther got sick. Because of her sight, she needs full-time care when she is unwell, so I spent my Yom Tov as a nurse. My holiday meals were mostly just matzah with cheese or salami.
Gratefully, she is feeling much better now.
איזה תחילת פסח מטורפת. הייתי חולה בבעיות גאסטרו ביומיים הראשונים, וברגע שהבראתי, אסתר חלתה. בגלל לקות הראייה שלה היא זקוקה לטיפול צמוד כשהיא לא מרגישה טוב, אז העברתי את שאר החג בתור אח במשרה מלאה. הסעודות שלי היו בעיקר מצה עם גבינה או סלמי.
ברוך השם, היא כבר מרגישה הרבה יותר טוב.

As a social democrat, I believe in a society built on solidarity and safety for everyone. But Wireless 2026 headlining Ye for three nights is where I draw the line.
In a year where antisemitic hate crimes in the UK have hit record highs, giving a massive stage to someone who has openly praised Hitler isn't "edgy"—it’s a choice to prioritize profit over the safety of the Jewish community.
We can't talk about a progressive UK while normalizing rhetoric that fuels hate on our streets. Inclusion isn't optional.

Dealing with recurring gastro issues is a physical battle, made tougher by the months-long specialist waits here in the UK.
The lesson? Work is my anchor. I had to take a few hours off this morning to manage the pain, but now I'm straight back to it. Resilience isn't about ignoring the struggle—it's about refusing to let it stop your progress. Tough days don't change the mission.

I was interviewed today by Kan News (Israel) regarding the despicable arson attack on our Hatzola ambulances in London.
Hatzola exists for one reason: to save lives. To target emergency medical vehicles is a cowardly act of hate and a chilling reminder of the rising tide of antisemitism in the UK. We will not be intimidated by those who seek to destroy what we build to protect our community.

I went to Kibbutz Tabor to cover a Hachnasat Sefer Torah as a journalist, but I ended up becoming part of the story. I was deeply honored to be invited to write a letter in the Torah scroll. A moment I will never forget!
