My husband sometimes has what I like to call his “revelations,” which are just really obvious observations about people that anyone barely paying attention would notice.

Come In, Come In

Stars are stars especially when they're dim.
I am faithless, but make an exception
for them; I make like deep space and trim
their hydrogen shells with endless, open-
work lace. I am nothing like them, and so
love them best of all. or next-to-best. after
my own wretchedness, which 1 am trying
to soften. Stars are soft. What is softer
than dving light? Softer than letting ga
ot yourselt and trusting that something
will call you home when it's time? I listen
so hard sometimes that all I can hear
is my own ringing. Come in, come in
clearly (star, savior). Rhyme me firmly here.

Friendly reminder I got laid off recently & want the bookstore to be my main job alongside Amanda. Spent the last week brainstorming how to make it happen. Some cool things you could do to help: -Buy books at @eveninghouse.bsky.social, in-person or online -buy Boxcutters or Feast -hype either 🍻🙏🫡

In 2026, if you don’t already, start keeping a personal journal. You don’t need to write every day. They want to destroy history. Tearing down the East Wing, throwing away NASA archives, removing Smithsonian exhibits and historical markers… Keep your own history. We might need it later.
