Charlie Methven (remember him?!) making a very interesting point on the Business of Sport podcast about owners and directors requiring all football club owners & directors to undergo (again) new, improved, owners & directors test in order to maintain their license to own a club.

Breaking arbitrary rules drafted up by your competitors in order to stifle your competitive advantage isn't the sin everyone is making it out to be. Laughably other 'top 6' fans saying relegate city like their club didn't participate in Project Big Picture which would've killed English football.

Steur v good with the ball, less so without. Miley better in defence where he can see the game more clearly. Struggles with his back to goal. MFP - need a lot of time. Hall should play CM. Does his best work in the centre of the pitch.

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Not just a reflection on last night just football/defending in general... As a defender/defence you are up against a target man who is v good in the air. Once the ball is set back for a cross you need to play the trap. The set back is the trigger to squeeze the pitch & disrupt the strikers run.

Lewis Hall should go into centre midfield. He's too good to play left back the rest of his career. Stick him in and play Tino & Dedic at fullbacks.

Don Goodman arguing for a penalty and against a penalty for virtually the same thing. Remarkable.

Get it down. Shift it side to side with shorter passes and take your time. Buy free kicks and set pieces. Hope one goes in within first 10 and then it's game on to get a point.

Hook Barnes and Murphy and get another centre half and centre mid on.

Shame Spurs couldn't bring on a Beyonce concert at 80mins, might have made a contest out of it.

Sky reporter "the club lost some top top players" Was one of those 'top top players' on the pitch for Tottenham Hotspur today? Could have fooled me.

020

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

All came from a throw in taken 10 yards further forward than where the ball left the pitch.

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

If they can sign a no.9 Wissa will be outstanding in this team. His 3rd man runs are better than willocks. Barnes and Elanga not really clever enough to figure out how to break their high line.

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

I didn't think it was a penalty. That being said complaints about it being 'a minute over' are nonsense. It's a 'Minimum of five minutes" ...we made a sub in the 94th so there's an additional 30-40s straight away.

030

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

£127m and didn't want to take the penalty. Incredible 😂

Couple of signings and we will be on our way. Enough there to be optimistic.

They're going to need to sell some players to revolutionise their squad quicker.

Difficult to see where Tottenham spent £180m in midfield

The Guardiola documentary on Amazon is phenomenal. Unbelievably driven & mad. Almost surreal they've let a lot of this be put on a documentary series. 10/10.

Watched the highlights of PSG Vs Villa. Brian Madjo ...wow. Unbelievable talent & physique. Dominated the PSG CBs. 17 years old ... scarcely believable. English born & suspect will get a call up asap.

LA Lakers sold for second time in two years last weekend. Sale price you ask? $12B NBA Europe on the horizon in next decade. NUFC should be purchasing the Eagles ASAP. ROI within 10 years will be astronomical if Eagles find their way into NBA Europe.

Much being read into a pre-season friendly... Minutes in the legs for the 1st team. Minutes for young players and a chance for them to play. No injuries. Didn't show too much of your hand to a team in your league. On to the next one. All building up to when it matters.

010

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 08/08/2026

Good luck to Bruno. Did a good job at Newcastle. Will be on top money at Arsenal now. Gets them closer to another PL title as he will score important goals for them against mid-table fodder. Doesn't improve their odds of winning in Europe as he's not got the legs to lay a glove on the top CMs.

000

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

*Just my opinion* - before running to sign a new centre midfielder to replace Bruno they should seriously consider Hall at centre mid. He does a lot of his best work in the middle of the pitch, and I think he's too good on the ball to play left back.

010

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

Fair play to Hopkinson for coming out and setting out the vision. If I'm being harsh it was a tad boosterist & he probably overegged it when it came to Jaissle. That being said a good way to reset the discussion and expectations. He probably needs to do more of these to keep fans on side.

010

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

Here's why loyalty isn't a thing in football ... If Bruno turned up from Lyon and was on £100k per week & he was crap you'd all want him gone as soon as possible. The players know this too. That's why they chase the £ as they know a few bad games and they aren't getting the same type of ££

020

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 01/08/2026

One hero leaves and another one will come through. That's the pattern. Great opportunity now for those young players to step up & make a name for themselves. This is part of the beauty of the game. You take a loss & you get up, dust yourself off, and go again. 😀👍🏻

010

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

Listening to podcast after podcast talking about PSR/SCR/ FFP. Besides it being largely nonsense created by accountants to give themselves jobs in football it is inherently biased towards clubs in capital cities. Non-London clubs should receive a weighting to balance the economic disparities.

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

Seen loads of people writing off the younger lads Newcastle have signed ..."getting rid of starters and replacing them with 18-20 year olds" Starters so good we finished 11th and Sunderland beat us twice. Bruno didn't lay a glove on Sidiki at SOL ..someone no one had heard of before last season.

120

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 30/07/2026

Big respect for Howe and the job he's done. Difficult not to look past the following though ... His teams are predictable with the ball & can't beat a low block. Is a 'system' coach and can't adapt to players who don't suit his style. He can't coach a team who plays twice a week. 1/2

100

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 30/07/2026

Lovely fella & a good coach. Always be grateful to him for delivering a trophy my old man wanted to see us lift before he died. Can't ask for much more than that. I do think he'd run his race at Newcastle in the end. Never quite looked the same or had the same energy since the pneumonia

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

NUFC should test Bruno's "I won't kick up a fuss" attitude. Just ignore all communication with Arsenal, make him turn back up to work, & remove the captaincy.

Spain were worthy winners. Didn't play with a 'proper number 9' or have an expensive 'superstar' coach/manager. Just an unshakable belief in their technical ability to keep the ball under pressure, dictating the tempo in possession, and staying patient & waiting for the opportunities.

010

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

Tuchel. Damned if he did, damned if he didn't. Playing on the break should have won the game & made changes to shore up the back line. Didn't have enough of a threat to keep ARG honest though. Needed 2-3 lads w/ pace on the break. If ENG had opened up and got beat he would have got pelters.

020

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

Btw the quality of crosses from the Argentinians was of the absolute highest order. Pace, whip, dip, spin too. A lesson in what to do if you can't get around, through (on the floor), or behind. Especially against a low block. Don't even need a tall striker just one that finds a yard between CBs

010

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

Let's have it right. Anyone who sat through England vs Italy at Euro 2020 could see that Harry Kane (whilst a great player) cannot be in a team playing deep and on the break. If he hooks Kane off at the 70 minute mark and puts Watkins or Rashford at 9 we have an outlet.

010

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

A very brave manager thinks about bringing Kane off and bringing on Watkins. A very quick striker who's dangerous on the counter attack against two, not very quick, CBs on a yellow card...

000

Jordan R @jordrich30.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

England bruising up Tagliafico ...loads of runs at him, lots of small pushes off the ball ...if he tires out he's a big problem for Argentina to solve as Saka will go destroy him 1 vs 1 when he comes off the bench.

I'd like to see Jadon Sancho come to Newcastle. I think with a bit of love you'd get the same talent that lit up Europe but with a different attitude. Clearly an unbelievable talent but a young man in desperate need of nurturing.

Just a reminder that UEFA could finish FIFA in an instant if they allowed Brazil, Argentina, and a handful of the best African international teams to take part in the Euros. They could even rename the Euros to something like ...the international cup. Then en mass refuse to enter any FIFA events.

This fella is nowhere close to the standard & his friends in VAR are making the game about themselves. That was not a penalty & this has turned into a farce.

Crazy crazy crazy from the Mexico goalkeeper. Two centre backs and neither one of them wanted to head that ball.

Definitely a red card. Poor challenge. Time for Mexico to come and break us down. England with pace to burn on the break.
