It finally feels like Autumn here even though I am still dressed with shorts and t-shirt, but at least I had my first cup of tea since last March and that's something to celebrate.

calia fer alguna mena de copagament a Anglaterra per visitar el metge tal i com es fa a certs països d'Europa com França o va ser totalment gratuït com aquí?

A perfect life for a European would look like this Summer in the Baltic sea and/or Atlantic Ocean (Southern Atlantic France, Northern Spain or coastal Portugal). Winter in the Canary Islands, nowhere else. Autumn and Spring anywhere in the Mediterranean. Change my mind.

Why is coffee so disgusting in Spain compared to Portugal and, no need to say, Italy? This includes Catalonia, sadly, yes. It tastes like an over burnt beverage with no acidity, no aroma.

Nothing against Pope Leo XIV himself, but not particularly excited about his visit to Catalonia if he will only speak in Spanish, with no effort at all to speak in Catalan, as sources say. Antoni Gaudí, the Sagrada Família architect, was a Catalanist himself, so let's hope for hope from the Pope.

Brazilian Portuguese sounds easy at first for Spanish speakers but it is so full of false friends, best thing he could do is to use the app, yeah :)

BTW 1. I am pretty sure most of those who WFH go to the office, when required, by public transport 2. You do not roll renewables in a year or two, also not everywhere in Europe is suitable to do so, for instance no wind in Northern Italy and no sun in most of northern Europe.

The issue of cultural dominance is relevant; even Europeans who, as in my case, are interested in the cultural production of other European countries have to *make an effort* to stay up to date, whereas the media in our own country systematically offers us what is produced in the United States.

You don't need to be the chancellor of Germany to see that there was no exit strategy from the moment Israel and the USA called on local insurgency to take power, in a country with no organised opposition! ...besides the Kurdish guerrillas, but then good luck explaining your plans to Turkey

The problem is, there is already a HR/VP for that role, and the same day VDL sided with Trump because the old world is gone etc etc... her HR/VP acnowledged international law is crumbling in front of EU ambassadors.

Safe for children...in Europe but not for those in the Middle East and central Asia. Any thoughts on the EPP group blocking a debate in the EP on Trump and Spain? Europe is quickly losing credibility, you cannot pretend to stand up to Putin by ignoring what Trump is doing in Europe's backdoors.

I support Spain's position standing to bully Trump, would love to see other EU countries doing the same, but would also love to see Spain sending military help for defensive purposes to EU countries being targeted right now, such as Cyprus. This is what being European should be about.

I hate to admit it, but Spain under Pedro Sánchez seems to be the only European country showing a bit of common sense in international affairs right now. How on earth do you get into a war counting on a popular uprising to determine the outcome, when there is no organised opposition?

Hi, Kaja, what makes the USA and Israeli unilateral aggression to Iran different to what Russia is doing to Ukraine in terms of international law? You are killing international law just out of fear of Donald Trump and this is sad.

The images we’re seeing of the effects of Storm Kristin in central Portugal are terrible, and as always, the Catalan and Spanish press completely ignore what’s happening in that country unless it’s to talk about politics or sports.

We can build walls or we can be more ambitious — and build something better, stronger, and more just.
Photo of Prime Minister Carney speaking at a podium in Davos, Switzerland. A quote from his speech is edited on top: “WHEN THE RULES NO LONGER PROTECT YOU, YOU MUST PROTECT YOURSELF. Having said that, that pass can be popular with those who commute often WITHIN a region and cover long distances, for instance Tarragona or Girona area to Barcelona, but will be expensive compared to previous regular monthly passes for those living in Barcelona's closer neighbourhood

Media distancia / regionals seldom cover big distances in Spain, for instance, if you want to go from Barcelona to Madrid you have to take one of the 1 or 2 daily trains to Zaragoza and then another of the 1 or 2 daily trains to Madrid, prepare to spend 10 hours, compare to 2 hours and half w/ AVE
