As bizarrely fascinating as Chainsmoker Cat is, I do feel a bit of pain for all the Nyan Neko Sugar Girls cosplayers who will have to put up with people making assumptions.

The abundance of "overnight shift at a gas station" horror games is intriguing. As someone who has worked that exact job before, I'll say they're all accurate depictions. Stocking, ringing up customers, refilling soda, fighting off unholy abominations the feeble human mind cannot grasp, cleaning...

As I continue reading the Stormlight Archive (I'm a good ways into book 2 and loving it still), I just have to wonder why people hate Shallan so much? She's one of my favorite characters, but all I ever see is people saying she's dull and even go as far as saying her chapters are skippable.

Went the Burbank Walmart at the Empire Center to see if I could get MetRX bars cheaper than getting them from Ralph's yesterday. They were cheaper, but I think I'll pay the extra couple bucks from now on because I NEVER want to step foot in that Walmart again.

As I sit down with breakfast and the new Ultraman episode, I realize this is the perfect show for a 90s/2000s style morning kids show block like Kids WB or Fox Kids/Fox Box. Sad we don't have those anymore.

Why is it always the good people? I never knew Mike McFarland, but people I know who knew him always had amazing and kind things to say. I'm a massive fan of his work and was always in awe of the passion and curiosity you could just feel coming from his performances. We miss you, Cap'n Buggy.

"Rococo maximalism." I didn't have a term for it when I saw it earlier today, but now I do. I see it now, and with a definition I can step back to the definition's distance and see it as what it is. It's a hell of an art choice, but it's deliberate. Wind Waker was a hell of an art choice, too.

I'm gonna say it. I like Link's look in the remake. It's busy, but it reminds me of a costume someone knitted and hand stitched for their local renaissance festival and that gives it a whimsical fairy outfit quality to me. It also makes it feel nostalgic to me personally.

🌴Jordan Woollen🌵 @jordanwoollenvo.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

There is something uncanny about the OoT remake at first glance, but the trailer at the end has me optimistic. In motion, it's animated beautifully and cartoonishly which assuages my worries for the most part. I also feel people can be a bit too nitpicky with remakes and I'm trying not to be.

So they took down Zeztz AND Kabuto and Agito have both had 36 episodes set to unavailable. This plus MY-TH episodes being removed after a month is just going to drive people to pirate the shows again. This is the opposite of what they wanted. Legitimately, what are they thinking?

Application count is over 50 now. My last job was nabbed after 50 applications so hopefully something works out soon. I have to remind myself that it's not even really been a full week (and only a few days for some apps) so I need to not stress so much and let the interviews come in.

I hate what speculators have done to card games. For multiple reasons, but a recent one is I've seen people complain they can't play One Piece because boxes of the new set are so expensive. Which - yes - is a problem, but not an "I can't play" problem.

So I just learned that the mass market paperback is being retired as a format. Is this because the trade paperbacks with fancy edge art sell better because they're trendy on booktok? I just want an affordable way to read novels and trades are too bulky for me - especially for travel.
