The SPC has introduced a 10% hatch (Cig1) for tomorrow’s severe threat. This includes a 45% hatch for destructive wind gusts also. The tornado threat will be QLCS (line embedded) tornadoes. Expect to see a significant amount of tornado warnings tomorrow and have a plan. @myradar.bsky.social #wxsky

The National Weather Service in Chicago has given the Aroma Park/Lake Village #tornado a preliminary EF-3 rating. "A EF-3 tornado tracked 36.6 miles from W of Aroma Park, IL to near DeMotte, IN. This is the tornado that caused 2 fatalities near Lake Village." #IllinoisWeather #indianaweather

Significant tornado threat today across Illinois, especially near I-80, as extreme instability and a lifting warm front create a dangerous setup for strong, long-track tornadoes and destructive hail. PDS Red Flag warning is in effect for S/California until 4 pm on Wednesday. This is due to damaging winds and low humidity. The NWS Los Angeles is warning of wind gusts up to 100 mph, which will fuel extreme fire behavior. This is a very serious situation and should be treated with extreme caution!
