can't do this because bananas release a gas that causes other bananas to ripen faster. would be impossible to own a banana anywhere close to that place. 1000s of feet above every grocery store is a no-fly zone for planes with bananas. with so many bananas, ripening happens so fast it's like a bomb.

When the Academy of Natural Sciences opened, paleontology had just been founded and the first steam locomotive launched. All other custodians of this museum preserved its incredible cultural and scientific heritage for 200 years. This is an embarrassment to the Drexel administration forever.

Can neural networks think like geomorphologists? @gregtucker.bsky.social and I trained a neural network to invert the streampower-diffusion model, and then opened the black box. It learned how valley spacing and drainage density connect to process. Out now in GRL: doi.org/10.1029/2026...

I read a book ages ago about The Internet by someone who clearly tried to spend as little time on the internet as possible and who was scandalized by people who acted otherwise. So bizarre! Why not work on something you want to work on??

UAI 2026 paper: A genetic perturbation can change the connectome, a new policy can rewire economic links between firms. In each case, interventions change the graph itself which standard SCMs treat as fixed. We tackle this in Partially Observed Structural Causal Models (POSCMs).
Expanded DAG for a 3-node POSCM under ordered generation. An exogenous ordering τ feeds context variables β₁, β₂, β₃; each βᵢ generates adjacency variables A_ji, which gate the value channels between endogenous variables V₁, V₂, V₃ and also feed the mechanism variables f₁, f₂, f₃. Phase I covers structure and context generation; Phase II covers mechanism assignment and value generation.

I followed this amazing literature, amasci.com/amateur/holo..., by @wbeaty.bsky.social who omg is on bsky, hi!!! and modified it slightly: • hyperboloids instead of circles (just showing off, barely changes anything) • used a robot holding a sword instead of precise hand carving • I made it worse

I went on a high school trip with this one kid who had convinced his parents to send him to Europe so he could sneak off and get drunk. He was dead weight until we got extremely (pre-smartphone) lost in Paris. He had played enough Battlefield that he effortlessly got us back on track. Wild :)
