I’m curious, what was your setup for this? Did you have an existing list of issues you pointed it to work through, or was identifying them part of the exercise here?

was it 5.6 Sol? Someone over at the other site had a run in with it: x.com/mattshumer_/...

I'm so angry... the OpenAI team is looking into it, but this feels like something that should happen with GPT-3.5. Not a mid-2026 frontier model on the highest reasoning level.

Who wants to sponsor Austin Systems this Wednesday? Are you trying to hire talented, passionate programmers? $250 pays for their pizza and gets you 5 minutes to talk about your company and why people should apply to you. Very high signal-to-noise.

That would make for a great blog post, I’d love to hear about the lessons you’ve learned given the scale I imagine you’ve got at the work

So think along the lines of “I handled a gRPC request, and now I need to do some post-processing” such as sending emails when a user signs up, or maybe charging via Stripe. Basically anything that would fit a riverqueue.com shaped job

@rednafi.com I’ve been digging through a bunch of your excellent blog posts recently, your writing is definitely some of the clearest thinking I’ve seen in a while around separating the different concerns. I was curious if you’d done thinking about applying this thinking to background processing?

Gotcha, for yourself have you ended up encoding any of the jj workflows into skills (I suppose I’m assuming you let agents commit for you, which may not be true), or just rolling with it?

Joonas Bergius @joonas.bergi.us · 10/06/2026
Sorry for asking out of the blue, I’ve just caught a few of your recent podcast appearances and talks where you’ve talked about jj, and so I thought I’d reach out

Joonas Bergius @joonas.bergi.us · 10/06/2026
@steveklabnik.com have you found any need to teach the AI agents how to use jj, or are you finding that their training corpus has caught up and it mostly just works? I don’t have enough hands on time with these to have a sense for this, so I figured I’d ask someone who probably does

I’ve been wondering the same thing for the same reasons, curious if you end up coming across anything! I’ll say, I’ve toyed with the idea of “translating” Pi to Go both as a learning experience and to scratch this very itch, might just have to roll up my sleeves and get it done

A bit over two years after starting to work on it... Go is officially FIPS 140-3 certified 💥 csrc.nist.gov/projects/cry... I am pretty confident Go is now one of the most—if not the most—seamless and complete FIPS 140-3 compliance solutions... with a single env var, out of the box.

Curious - are you using 5.3 Codex or 5.4? Or maybe one of the prior models?

I too have found them in private code bases, but perhaps more importantly, in public ones and somewhat important ones at that (not that somehow makes them immune to bugs or anything). This talk in particular helped drive it home for my how this is the new norm: m.youtube.com/watch?v=1sd2...

It’s pretty nifty, I too learned about it only fairly recently, and have been spreading the good word ever since 😄 I should note that it breaks down immediately if you change the “good first issue” label in any way (including adding an emoji to it or something)
