We are lucky not to live in a part of the world where other people want to kill us.

Some shitty action causes the retribution of the other, which causes the original party to seek a second retribution, and so on. I see their actions as being brutal because they’re so afraid of the slippery slope of letting one country pile on top of another if they appear weak…

All true things. I suppose I see Israel’s actions as desperate. They became colonizers in the aftermath of the holocaust. Since then it’s largely been a spiral of violence and death, all attempting to maintain a status quo in an unstable region…

Do you think that Israel is this way because of poor leadership, because they’re the only Jewish state in a hostile region, or something else?

Fun fact as I read the Norton Shakespeare: The reason we have the term “role” as in “your role in the play/organization” is because theatre actors in Shakespeare’s time received strips of paper glued to each other as a “roll” of paper. www.goodreads.com/book/show/23...

One of the advantages of the US is that legally, the US is like 50 different countries. Much more happens politically at local levels than in other countries. Also, getting anything nontrivial accomplished federally requires 4 branches of the US government agreeing which is rare. All is not lost.

That’s how Churchill envisioned the EU if I’m not mistaken.

I’m pleased they decided to do that. IMO, news shouldn’t be opinion based. Recommending a political candidate is an opinion. Opinions mixed with American news is something that’s irked me since I moved down to the US.

I’m going to disagree with this. I tend to forget birthdays for people I love very much. Additionally, not everyone is a big fan of birthdays. If I were you, I’d err on the side giving them the benefit of the doubt if they demonstrate they care in other ways.

You got a genuine “lol” out of me for this.

Sounds like you’re looking to post a link to a blog post, with a high-level description here, and on threads. That’s what I’d do, instead of trying to order 70 posts.

Actually, no. I’m not saying Chat GPT is a good writer that can compensate for humans who have sense. But it’s good for brainstorming. You can interact with it as a conversation. I do it with some of own stuff, although I’m not a published author. You might be pleasantly surprised… or not. 🤷
