Re-listened to Diorama by møl in preperation for seeing them next week and I honestly don't know what I was smoking when I heard it upon release 5 years ago. The album is honestly almost, if not equally, as great as Jord, with the same triumphant mix of black metal and shoegaze that I loved.

to end* Hopefully it will be an Akatsuki no Yona-type situation with it being announced with the final chapter, but that might be a giga-cope

Did my usual technique for choosing an anime from my seasonal backlog (spin a wheel into spin all the series from that year that I want to watch) and we have a winner

After all that Nowak did, seeing him kind of eat shit with his whole raison d'etre essentially being torn down was super satisfying to witness Easily my favorite episode so far, how does this anime still manage to peak this late in? If it manages to stick the landing, this will easily be a fav.

Nowak might actually be the scariest anime character of all time, every time he shows up you just know that something awful is going to happen (he's also voiced by Kenjirou Tsuda, which helps with the intimidation factor)

And just the next episode they introduce a character who completely rejects the idea of being a stepping stone for someone else........this show just keeps getting better and better the more I watch it. I honestly haven't been this excited for a new watch since at least Fruits Basket, it's great.

This manga makes me kick my legs and giggle with how god damn cute it is sometimes

John Rod fucking died?!

They also played a surprise cover of Tages, a relatively obscure (at least internationally) Swedish band that were big in the 60s and the closest thing we had to a Beatles over here, so cool to see them show appreciation to our 60s culture!

Highlight of the concert was easily Any Time of Day, the harmonies combined with the Bee Gees-esque falsetto in particular sounded insanely good live

The Lemon Twigs proved yet again why they are the best 60s band to not actually come from the 60s, so glad I got to experience them live

This Citizen album has just been alt rock banger after alt rock banger so far, possibly their best yet if it keeps this quality up

I kind of hope he never names this stand cause it would be so fucking funny if that became the ''official'' inofficial name forever

JOHN ROD IS ACTUALLY AURA FARMING

L'Rain music has always been rooted in psychedelia, but I was NOT prepared for how weird her new album would be (in a good way), the only truly soul-oriented cut on the album is Birthday, while the rest of the album focuses more on atmosphere and a borderline avant-garde sound palette

Unironically my second most played Weezer-song 🤐

Album as a whole is really fun, even if there are some songs where you kind of have to be a bit lenient with the lyrics (looking at you, ''Hoops''), cause musically it's the best thing they have released in at least 10 years

How he manages to sing this song every night without crying is honestly an achievement on its own that needs to be studied

Despite not being that much into his new album, it was an amazing show, the light show and visuals were super aesthetically pleasing and matched each song perfectly and the band he brought with him gave his usual "sad boy"-music an extra kick that made it a good match for an actual arena show

Started watching Food for the Soul and I'm already digging it a lot, a CGDCT-anime that is set in college is pretty refreshing in my book and I'm already farming good reaction images

Aaaaand a final clip of James K. Boy did this thread take a long time to make on my phone, but I had fun writing about my overall concert experience, which overall was excellent and I'd gladly be back if they can get another line-up this stacked again. THE END.

Lastly, there was no chance for me to go and see Jane Remover since her venue would have been completely full by the time I'd gotten there, so I went back to the church and caught an act called James K who played some gorgeous dream pop that was elevated by the acoustics of the church

The highlight of the show was easily Damascus from their latest album (they even brought out Mos Def!), but they also played my favorite song of theirs (Empire Ants) with Yukimi from Little Dragon joining then for the performance

As I mentioned earlier, next up was Gorillaz (my third time seeing them!) and no other band is as fun to see live from an audio-visual perspective with how diverse their catalogue is and how creative their visuals are

MyNameIsJon_ner @jonner.bsky.social · 16/08/2026
Funnily enough, she played exactly one minute of royals right at the start of the set as if to say "there, I played it", which was kind of funny
100
MyNameIsJon_ner @jonner.bsky.social · 16/08/2026
After that it was time for yet another pop act in the form of Lorde. Gorillaz was right after, so I didn't stand super close to get a good spot for them instead, but her live show was pretty creative with her use of the different set pieces on stage and her hits still hold up pretty well

I really hope he has more songs the next time he comes around, cause even as someone who loves Back to Friends and 12 to 12, 7-10 minute versions is a bit too much (even if he tried to drag out BtF in creative ways like crowdsurfing and drawing a flag to show Sweden love live on stage)

After Wilco it was time for an artist I like way more than I would like to admit - Sombr. Honestly the only big male pop artist that I really like these days (besides the Weeknd) and his show was a lot of fun, even if he dragged out 12 to 12 and Back to Friend to an embarrassing degree
100
MyNameIsJon_ner @jonner.bsky.social · 16/08/2026
After that (on the same stage), it was time for yet another band I had seen before: Wilco! Not much to say except that the dudes still rock and hearing Jesus Etc. live (one of my top 5 favorite songs OAT) was still a heavenly experience

That said, getting to hear both Spring and their excellent cover of Neil Youngs "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" made it worth sitting through the wait for their power to come back online

Day 3: since the Cure played until 1AM, I didn't go out to any club shows the night before, but the last day started with both a whimper and a bang with the indie icons Saint Etienne playing a show where a good chunk of their set was cut due to technical problems
100
MyNameIsJon_ner @jonner.bsky.social · 16/08/2026
They pretty much played every major hit they have, but Friday I'm In Love is the song that is closest to my heart, so hearing it live again was a joyful experience
100
MyNameIsJon_ner @jonner.bsky.social · 16/08/2026
After that amazing show it was time for (arguably) the biggest headliner, The Cure (my first time seeing them since 2012). It did feel like they were a bit tour fatigued, but they still pulled off a better show than most artist do at their peak, which says a lot about their level of craftsmanship

MyNameIsJon_ner @jonner.bsky.social · 16/08/2026
He ended the set with a beautiful solo rendition of "Into My Arms"
100
MyNameIsJon_ner @jonner.bsky.social · 16/08/2026
And now for one of the major highlights: Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds! They played an amazing set where he was basically proposing to the audience with how much love he showed them by being right in front of the audience and touching hands like 70% of the show

After a food break at a banger Indian restaurant, I caught a glimpse of Dijon (sadly missed Yamaha), but his heavily studio-edited sound translated surprisingly well live

(A clip of Geese playing Trinidad)
100
MyNameIsJon_ner @jonner.bsky.social · 16/08/2026
After a small break, it was time for Geese who played an excellent set (on a scene that they felt too big for considering their hype), where their signature blend of artsy blues and indie rock made for an excellent show

A clip of Nektar playing "Faller" (English translation: "Falling")
100
MyNameIsJon_ner @jonner.bsky.social · 16/08/2026
After that it was time for Swedish indie rock Gothenburg natives Nektar (who I caught last year at a venue of like 100 people), so it was really cool to see them play in front of a larger audience

Day 2: Started off with catching a bit of Annahstasia (not the one who wrote I'm Outta Love), with her chill chamber folk being a gentle start to the second day (also a surprise Bob Marley-cover)

After that I finished the first day by going to a church, where one half of First Aid Kit played a set with a guy named James Yorkton, which was pretty cozy to watch
110
MyNameIsJon_ner @jonner.bsky.social · 16/08/2026
After that it was time for one of the festivals headliners in the form of Moby, who played a super high energy techno-filled set of hit after hit (only interrupted by some vegan informal video that kind of ruined the flow of the show), but hearing Porcelain live was more than worth it
