No, I'm talking about "Fury" (the 2001 series). I think that's one of the best things Ennis has ever written (from what I've heard him say in interviews, he seems to agree.). It's dark, even by Ennis' standards.

Growing up, 100% punk and metal. But I listen to everything these days .... I love indie folk, jazz, even some electronica, anything moody (and especially) instrumental. Any music that puts me in a writing mood is a plus.

That's exactly it. Creating a pathway to publication isn't a problem that needs "disrupting." Vanity presses provided that solution years ago. The *real* problem writers face is attracting readers, and this service doesn't disrupt that problem at all. This is publishing's version of Theranos.

Self-publishing is a great venue for many to get their writing out there. I just take a jaundiced view of any "publishing platform" that effectively does everything a vanity press does but somehow makes it even worse with AI.

So, it’s a vanity press but somehow worse? The end customer here isn't the reader ... it's the unwitting “author” who doesn’t want to put in the work, forks over $5k, and wonders why they’re stuck with boxes of product no one wants. The last thing the world needs is more shitty books.
