A large strand of work I am involved in is helping to defend JSO, IB and XR activists who are prosecuted for taking dynamic action to stop climate breakdown. I help people use the CGAN defence - climate breakdown can be prosecuted using ICCA 2001, but the Met Police won't act on the legislation.

I have initiated several meetings with climate/aviation campaigners in connection with the International Court of Justice AO on responsibilities associated with climate breakdown. I explained the need to use the ICJ ruling to help stop aviation expansion plans. Note The Times & Mail on this.

Since December I've been briefing eco-NGOs on the huge implications of the International Court of Justice Advisory Opinion on national responsibilities/liabilities associated with climate change. Today Policy Exchange confirmed it knows its policies could cause £multi-trillion debts (Times today).

Leigh Day solicitors are acting for me in connection with a planned Judicial Review of BBC output relating to climate breakdown (BBC has long censored the most alarming news). We can't yet proceed to JR because the BBC is planning a review of its output. Here's the latest letter to the BBC: -

On 14 April the BBC reported on the Lord Robinson defence review on all major news bulletins. Funny that the BBC could never find any space on TV news for the National Emergency Briefing, Joint Intelligence Chief's report or the Defra 'food riots' report !

I was astonished to see the CCC's adaptation report didn't include a word about preparing for AMOC collapse. How can we expect the UK government to prepare if the CCC has nothing to say about an existential threat?! So I've just fired off this email to the CCC and Baroness Brown.

Today the BBC has broadcast the most detailed series of reports on climate breakdown since COP26 in Glasgow. Every 30 minutes, or so, the BBC has reported on the CCC's Adaptation Team's warning that government is failing miserably to prepare the country for more extremes of flood, heat and drought.

My first post on bsky. Let's go back to April 2019 and the first time in my life to have been arrested - beside the Pink Boat with XR. It was a bit embarrassing seeing the report in the local Echo paper (pictured). But it was an essential step to take.
