I support. Jesse Helms is long gone. There should be an agency that can address growing technical risks and develop technical and political tools to manage these risks and advocate for them in the government. Apparently the President can just create or eliminate agency work at will?

The labs developing AI frontier models do not understand how they work and do not have the answers to controlling AI. They are not the ones we should be looking to for regulation and standards. They need to be part of the conversation, not the deciding actors.

I support strong, government centric regulation of frontier labs in close cooperation with the labs and with strong international work to share info and report incidents and normalize strong model containment. But saying “and verification” with no explanation of how is silly.
