For too long, Wales has been underfunded, undervalued and overlooked. Plaid Cymru is giving Wales a stronger voice and calling for a new deal to change that.

Plaid Cymru demands a New Deal for Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 The powers and resources to improve lives across our nation, including policing and justice, rail infrastructure, the Crown Estate, fair funding and greater financial flexibility. Wales has waited long enough. It’s time for Westminster to listen. ✊
The Plaid Cymru First Minister delivering his speech at Conference, split into three parts. "Today, I have written to the Prime Minister with a formal ask - A New Deal for Wales.", "A New Deal to secure powers for a purpose.", "Not as an end in themselves but as a means of growing our economy and improving outcomes for everyone."

Westminster has neglected Wales for too long. Plaid Cymru was given a mandate by the people of Wales to stand up and demand the fairness that we’re owed. Andy Burnham must respect that mandate and give our nation the tools we need to thrive.

Burnham must understand Wales is ‘not a region in England’, says first minister
Rhun ap Iorwerth, the first non-Labour Senedd leader, questions Westminster’s willingness to relinquish powers Andy Burnham has to be serious about devolution and understand that Wales is a nation and “not a region in England”, according to the country’s first minister. Rhun ap Iorwerth, who is the first non-Labour leader of the Senedd since devolution, told the Guardian that while he was encouraged by initial discussions with the new UK prime minister, he was wary about Burnham being captured by a consensus Westminster view against relinquishing further powers.
