Remiss of me? I work as an impartial public servant for the Scottish Parliament. I’m so sorry I’ve not heard of an English academic… I’ve not properly spoken to David or Cat in years. But I’m hardly going to denounce them on a public forum because they once liked an academic who later radicalised.

It's very important to make the argument City shouldn't be relegated but should be expelled. The EFL should get to choose whether it takes them and at what tier. The bad faith dealings have impacted many sides that are currently EFL teams.

Really devastating news for staff and for cultural journalism in Scotland. I’ve written on/off for them over the past decade and been immensely grateful to do so. As with any publication, folk won’t love everything they published, which is as it should be. The Skinny made Scotland a better place.

The direction of travel is interesting. I wonder whether councils can also expect to be downsized. (On that note, the average Scottish local council represents about 170,000 people. The European average is only 10,000 people per local authority, so we're already a big outlier.)
