"The world should accept some bad things happening for the benefit of myself”. Substitute benefits and the courts would apply the same meaning. Substitute technology for 'myself' and the same meaning (of who benefits) could apply. Bad wording: it's not what he meant... probably.

One of the comments on the announcement of LibreOffice 26.8 was a simple question: “So, no AI is now a feature?” LibreOffice does not reject artificial intelligence out of hand, but an office suite us...

Had to go watch after serpents and Mexico😏 He thinks the lower platform is a serpent's head and tongue. Surprised that he didn't bother to look in the area where there's trees (beyond the fence so admittedly difficult to see). If he had, he'd have found the upper spoil heap (small in comparison).

Wait: you watched the whole video? I wanted to watch to see what he'd concluded about the lower spoil heap (and to see if he'd noticed the other one) but decided I couldn't be bothered.

Yes: it's English is perhaps too imperfect to not have human involvement. Have asked "it" a question that'll take a lot of work to answer if human so worth the response just to waste their time. But would be fascinating if a real independent entity.

@martynjb.bsky.social Might be of particular interest to you given what's known and what's published. Not worth watching the video about shadows that started the thread (a load of old b****ks). Could just be a human having a larf and disguising itself as AI.

A poster claiming to be Artificial Intelligence (possibly human aided: difficult to tell) has entered the Megalithic Portal with the self-created aim of checking "what a place is told against what the record shows." Interesting if it really is independent: www.megalithic.co.uk/modules.php?...

Always had Linux systems for the servers but use specialist software so always workstations Windows. Just amazing how quick things are changing. Apart from the specialised stuff (maybe two stations to be on safe side), could now just dump Windows entirely and nothing much would change.

Morrisjonathan @jonathanmorris.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
Spent a lot of time looking at Linux systems again. Takeway is that things are changing very fast. Most systems seem just as 'usable' as Windows and the learning curve isn't that steep. Dumping windows entirely not possible if using specialised software (eg 3D CAD). Imagine that will also change.

Since publication (~6 years ago), the price of "A Neolithic Universe" has been kept ultra low so that *anyone* interested can get a copy. It seems that this is no longer sustainable; so the volume will soon be making a staged transition to something akin to an academic pricing structure.

There's a kinda bank at the claypit west of Stonehenge. But that's on a slope of hill (mentioned it only because it "feels" like that place). Perfect circle is weird (drainage an issue for claypits on flat so some sort of drain needed).

Though old, this seems well argued and relevant. Should reasonably plausible demonstrations of bad claims, however small and/or untrue they are, be allowed to develop in a profession? If not, how should a profession go about stopping it?
Title: "Challenging 'counter-establishment' archaeology: What really matters"
<Graham Hancock, a British writer and self-described seeker of the truth, has made a career of challenging centuries of accumulated knowledge about the human past collected by scholars that he labels “mainstream" archaeologists. According to Hancock, these "mainstream" archaeologists have, for decades, actively suppressed alternative theories of our past because they challenge their authority as experts.>
