I mean you're right, that's what the Truck Series is for, but it could still be argued that it's too big of a season for some legit drivers to attempt. Running one-off truck races only makes an impact if you win, which you won't. Winning an ARCA championship is attainable.

Well, theoretically, it's the entry-level way to run the big tracks, right? That does seem like an important job. But it doesn't have the bandwidth to actually function as a "NASCAR Junior Series," so it just functions as playing pretend race cars.

Yeah, probably nothing. JGR getting out is totally sensible if no one else in ARCA is going to get serious. But is this good news for other teams since being competitive is now possible, or does it just mean all the actual talent is just going to go TA2, CARS Tour, Truck Series?

I legitimately don't know whether this is good for ARCA because now there won't be two cars 25% faster than all the others or whether it makes the series entirely not worth doing for promising young drivers

The thing is, that's why the ACO had all the power there. They must have determined it was still worth outsourcing all this regulation and coordination to the FIA, because if it wasn't, Le Mans would just go off on its own again.
