At least Minneapolis community meetings always have good food. Spicy but good sambusas in Heritage Park.

There is a special place in hell for the ICE agents who sit in their car at an elementary school with masks on and guns out waiting to kidnap students and parents arriving at school #AbolishICE

Minnesota keep your whistle and phones handy. Uptick in ICE activity in south metro including in cars on school grounds. Check in with local networks and school patrols. Local response networks can prevent our neighbors from being kidnapped. #AbolishICE #Minnesota #Minneapolis

Oh yes I have so many green tomatoes. Planted 100 types this year. Dahlias might bite the dust soon but being by downtown I can usually keep my zinneas and snapdragons into Nov.

Hoping frost holds off because my Minneapolis garden is still producing tons of veggies and flowers. Having dahlias on my desk and fresh tomatoes for lunch makes all the insanity of the world a little easier to deal with.

Trump is responsible for this. The man could just end the pointless Iran war. Instead we are trying to buy diesel from a war criminal so our pedophile president keeps a few of his criminal friends in office while innocent Ukrainians are murdered.

Haha yes. Bluesky needs a edit feature and my new Google phone needs the terrible AI powered spell check turned off. But Minneapolis also has good restaurants thanks to all our immigrants. I do suspect DHS lied to the judge but the judge should expect that by now.

MN mom pressed into democracy defense @joleneljohnson.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

I hate the ICE occupation but one upside is the neighborhood groups we formed can be quickly activated to search for missing people and pets. Tonight we immediately could get coordinated volunteers out to help find a missing child.

Worried about the feds invading our representative's house on bogus charges? One concrete thing you can do is attend a democracy defense training with Monarca. Even if you can't attend a training there are lots of good resources available. Be prepared! #Minnesota #democracydefense

Trump consistently underestimates Minnesota. We have already been training on multiple democracy defense issues including what to do if our local officials are arrested on bogus charges. I am exhausted but not demoralized. We will defend democracy. #Minnesota #AbolishICE #Impeach

🚨 Trump keeps attacking Somali Minnesotans to distract from his failures. But Minnesotans aren’t falling for it. Today, neighbors across the state stood watch outside their local mosques during Friday prayers. Enjoy this thread of Minnesotans loving our neighbors, & reply with your own photos! 🧵👇🏾

This playacting attempted murderer was one of the agents dragging a pregnant woman around in the snow in Minneapolis. Maybe we should immediately investigate bad behavior and prosecute ICE criminals to prevent more tragedies. #AbolishICE

We have had one of these signs up since Jan. Our Somali neighbors are the best Minnesotans. They bring sambusas to all the neighborhood gatherings. They brought us bags of clothes when our daughter was born. They belong here as much as my Scandinavian ancestors.

Totally having my physics students read this. Lovelace is right. AI can't have an imagination. We need to ensure AI is used and developed ethically. Also the article will be a good segway into female scientists have always existed and their work still matters. Science and AI need women.

This is a small start. McCormick Baron needs to be held responsible but so does government. The city has let people live in mold and rat infested buildings without heat over the winter. 440 apartments are probably going to be demolished. 25 years of abandoning Heritage Park. #Minneapolis

Pro tip. If you are renting a car where ICE has been active (like Minneapolis but these days many places) run your plates through a national database to see if it has been rented by ICE. If it has ask for a different car. Helps keep you safe and prevents your neighbors from worrying. #AbolishICE

Yes I would love to have sent my kids to Bethune... which is now closing after just getting an addition. However I can't live with the chaos and low expectations in North Minneapolis schools. There are good people but the district is intent on destroying any progress every 5-10 years.
