We, outside of the USA, do what we did with apartheid South Africa. We boycott them. We don't buy their goods, we protest outside events involving anyone American. I'm sorry for the good people living there, but, that's what we have to do.

Being that young, I'd never heard of Protex before. I can remember being amazed at how loud a gig was! Good on the Boomtown Rats for taking them out on tour with them. The Rats were at the top of their success then with I Don't Like Mondays.

Protex were the first band I ever saw live. Granby Halls, Leicester, October 1979. They were supporting Boomtown Rats. I was 12 years old!

If I am reading this correctly, China's oil refineries are specifically designed for processing Venezuelan crude oil. They've invested $17 billion in Venezuela. Unless China adjusts refineries, other options for China are crude oil from Canada and Mexico; two countries who should now be worried.

Totally agree. I'm a huge football fan, but I've had nothing to do with anything FIFA for years. I was already boycotting this year's World Cup before all this. Before Trump's threats to Mexico today, I doubted how it could happen. Now, I'm convinced it won't.

But, if this is all designed to undermine China, although I am neither Canadian nor Mexican, I am very worried where's next for annexation by the US administration. Anyone reading this who has been charged overdraft fees: write to your bank demanding a full refund on the fees. If they refuse, contact the Financial Ombudsman. It can take a long while, but you may, as I did, get a full refund.

Just missed out seeing him with The Cramps, who I first saw in 84. Good to see him and Howe Gelb doing gigs together in Tucson recently.

Didn't know about that link. My knowledge of him comes via this song, William Burroughs' writings, and the occasional reference to his The Psychology of Fascism in scholarly works that attempt to understand the social and psychological phenomenon of racism. I really must get round to reading it.

In the early 90s, I was an adult student, living in Leamington Spa. To supplement my income, I delivered the local free newspaper. Once, Clive Swift, of Keeping Up Appearances fame, approached me, asking me where the nearest newsagent was. They used to film the sitcom's outdoor scenes in the town.
