Nice bit of morning delivery in Ashton 📬 In wide multi-party elections, Lib Dems have virtually no path to victory without consistent effort. Doing my bit 💪

Good Saturday canvass session in the Sharoe Green area of Preston North. Interesting to see the weakening of Reform support in their voters since May.

Getting my steps in this morning in Ashton 📬 Lots of rumours about council reorganising (LGR) swirling around…luckily our leaflet says the Govt might change the minds from week to week 🤷🏻‍♂️

Watched Toy Story 5 (another great 🍿) but made me guilty about not playing with my toys 😆 Outside of Conference it’s been a tough few weeks… nice to start some painting again🎨

The Preston Liberal Democrats would not be where we are today without Bill’s support, dedication and many years of service. Rest in peace, Bill. Thank you for everything.

Cllr John Potter @johnpotterld.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Bill excelled in so many areas that it is difficult for any reflection to do him justice: historian, charity chairman, volunteer, councillor, election agent and marketeer—but, most importantly, a wonderful family man and a great friend.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Preston Honorary Alderman and former Preston Liberal Democrat Leader Bill Shannon passed away yesterday evening.

Labour decision on Local Government Reorganisation 🤦‍♂️

010

Cllr John Potter @johnpotterld.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

This decision will cost taxpayers money, put more financial stress on stretched council services and disgracefully turn our backs on genuine refugees. Morally bankrupt and financially dumb, Lancashire Reform in a nutshell.

000

Cllr John Potter @johnpotterld.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

Reform in Lancashire pull out of the Govt funded refugee resettlement scheme. This will cost taxpayer more and change nothing. This is typical of Reform in Lancashire; concentrating on empty gestures despite the real life consequences hurting the people in Lancashire.

Team Preston South West out canvassing again yesterday afternoon. Then a fantastic evening with Tim Farron’s staff at the Westmorland & Furness annual dinner with guest speaker Ed Davey

Getting my steps in in between the rain 🌧️ Delighted by how the North Lancs areas have come together. Thousands of doors knocked on in August 🚪leaflets & surveys being done The 2027 locals will be the biggest in decades & the Lib Dems in North Lancashire are going to give it everything we’ve got 💪

New experience today…taking part in a ‘Super Major’ #Warhammer tournament. 200+ players including some of the best in the world. Did not think I would be doing this when I got into the hobby last year. Really brilliant & friendly opponents. 3 games today and 2 tomorrow.

Liberal Democrat Councillor Jack Singh was not even sure that he was the first Sikh councillor until people made sure he was aware. Messages came in from parents, family, and from very far afield on the day of the election... www.blogpreston.co.uk/2026/07/the-...

The ‘fence-sitting’ Lib Dems have Preston’s first Sikh councillor – what do they prioritise before the council is abolished?

Have the Lib Dems plateaued? And can a party modelling itself on being sensible grow in 2026 politics?

Cllr John Potter @johnpotterld.bsky.social · 25/07/2026

Excellent canvassing session in Preston South West 👋 Loads of support for the local Lib Dems 🔶 Reform poor performance in Lancashire and their national scandals is showing in their support ⬇️ Nearly everyone knew about the change in councils 🏛️

Fantastic event tonight Lib Dems from Cumbria as well as the three North Lancashire local parties of Preston, Ribble Vallay and Lancaster & Morecambe. Money raised, enthusiasm topped up and everyone excited for what we might achieve.

Farage is a spoilt little posh boy who has spat his dummy out because he was going to be found guilty of being the grifter that everyone knows he is. Always plays the victim but like most bullies he’s actually a spineless coward. He can get in the bin 🗑️ after hopefully losing to a bin 😆
