One of billions of reasons to never trust AI's reasoning.... this picture is NOT the Iowa Senate's president.

John Pemble @johnpemble.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

Why you should never ever ever trust AI results. This image is NOT Sen Sinclair. When we search engine a thing, the AI disinformation shows up. You can escape it by using your brain. You can also denounce auto integration of AI.

Cancel filmmakers that bring known problematic artists to their projects. Buy-bye Ti. Throwing my copies of your movies in the trash.

This is at the very least, priceless joy. I also have some of this from my friend Madeleine

Madeleine Pemble. A terrific 14 year old being.

Talking about things that are hard does NOT make you insufferable. It takes courage to be vulnerable and share. Life is shit sometimes. And there are other times it is not. Be you. Talk. We are listening and appreciate you. So does my cat, even if she appears dismissive.

Gil Gerard. 1943 - 2025 My Buck Rogers. Yes it was a goofy show and I love every bit of it. He had cancer and prior to death he wrote a statement for his wife to release upon dying. It starts “My life has been an amazing journey.” And concludes “See you out somewhere in the cosmos”

It’s rare I’ve seen any of the popular this week films featured on LB. Not that I won’t. Definitely will see Weapons on 4K home disc. But clearly my intake is less about FOMO / gotta see how this new thing now. Since I’ve trended this way, I find my movie experience is overall more satisfying.

Shudder is the best and most economical genre streaming ever.

This is a common scam and a lot of people are falling for it. Talk to your friends and especially your older relatives.

On this day 45 years ago one of the biggest TV cliff hangers ever hit the country on a Friday night.

I don’t mind a pub, but c’mon man… this is a good 3/17 scene. Not in frame is a pint of G and a glass of W.

100% stand behind my comment. Learn and figure out context so you can write, grow, and make the next project. AI is a tool but most of it is for lazy fucks.

Justin’s work shows up in places I don’t always expect. Justin is doing the good work of making home movie releases better. This from Goin South

Programming the fall 2025 60 days of Halloween films. I do it in bits ahead of time and also need to do things now to give me some optimism of the near future.

The @vinsyn.bsky.social disc replacement concerning Looking for Mr Goodbar…. didn’t know it was coming but the copy I bought in Nov does freeze up. This happens with 4K discs all the time so I was like whatev… but VS made a better disc and that’s super customer service

The first week of January is when @vinsyn.bsky.social has a week of serious discounts. My package arrived today and this winter will be that kind of viewing season and I couldn’t be happier about the that.

Big fan of @diabolikdvd.bsky.social They have great titles. Fair market prices. And perfect packaging with a flat shipping rate. But I now see a “route shipping protection” fee applied. This is new and it doesn’t appear optional. Is this the new way? Not complaining, but am surprised.

Random text today. Could be wrong number. Could be phishing. I’m so tempted to replay - “She’s tearing me apart!” but I don’t wanna deal with it. But sharing the idea here with you is satisfying enough.

Jan is turning out to be a pretty solid cinematic daily viewing thing. Have a viewing map for the rest of the month. Will share as I go because this stuff is mostly all I give a shit about.

New #comic Wednesday includes THREE ones from @dslryan.bsky.social an awesome just barely a year old label. And #christmas #horror with anthology of things including CREEPSHOW Plus two more good comics. The merging of horror and Christmas is so right up my mid December alley. A great day.

At a Star Wars Skeleton Crew screening event during a presser with Dave Filoni, Robert Timothy Smith who plays Neel is doing what sensible and fun kids do. This is awesome. So are the first two eps of Skeleton Crew. youtu.be/iKGNKcvtzu4?...

Although this isn’t likely to be my favorite flavor of SW, I am happy I am going to see this in a hour. I also think this is being promoted as the show it is, an Amblin / Goonies kind of vibe. Not all SW has be in the deep pits of drama like Andor, which is something I am looking forward to in 25

New arrivals. So pleased 4K physical discs of SW D+ shows continue to come out. These presentations are just so much better than the streams. And I love these shows.

The return of Michael Mann’s The Keep (1983) to physical media is a huge hit for Vinegar Syndrome. 12,000 limited edition + standard edition 4K now listed as sold out 3 days after going on sale. Glad I got my order in early.

A live radio talker this week. The first half of this 37 year (and counting) radio career had me doing mostly on air live work. That’s changed as I now do all kinds of things but I do appreciate sitting in now and then as the announcer. Wish I had work pics of me from the 80s

30 years ago I saw #StarTrek Generations on the opening Friday night wearing this uniform. These days the top isn't aligning as well with my body. The back zipper is half zipped up for this shot. Perhaps 2025 is an opportunity to find a tailor to make a uniform matching my present dimensions.
