I just had a realization. The core issue with AI is that it doesn’t really satisfy any human needs as identified in Mazlow’s Hierarchy of Needs. We don’t need it. In fact, AI actually gets in the way of us meeting many needs.
Mazlow’s Hierarchy of Needs shown in the classic pyramid form with the needs listed from top level down to basic needs.

self-actualization needs: desire to become the most that one can be.

Esteem needs: respect, self-esteem, status, recognition, strength, freedom.

Love and belonging needs: friendship, intimacy, family, sense of connection.

Safety needs:personal security, employment, resources, health, property.

Physiological needs: air, water, food, shelter, sleep, clothing, reproduction.

Text excerpt from an essay written by Harrison Cook, posted on Free Write blog website, reading:

In Brave New World, there is ample access to the recreational drug Soma, which eliminates all unhappiness. This medication tricks its citizens into false happiness while simultaneously supporting the system that needs happy-drugged people to participate in it. In this frightful world, people are grown in artificial wombs and then sent on predetermined educational paths rife with operant conditions and pleasure gratification. Here, free will is of no concern because the citizens don't know they're missing it.
"The perfect dictatorship would have the appearance of a democracy,"
Huxley says, "but would basically be a prison without walls in which the prisoners would not even dream of escaping. It would essentially be a system of slavery where through consumption and entertainment, the slaves would love their servitudes."
In Huxley's story, if someone refuses Soma, they are sequestered on an island with like-minded people to await further punishment. While the main character finds solace in being alone - together - with likeminded people, he quickly realizes the monoculture of thought on the island. There is no one to dissent where it really counts.
Everyone thinks the same.

Dear NPR, The attacks on Michelle Obama are not a “right-wing conspiracy theory,” they are misogynist, bigoted, racist, transphobic insults. Please correct your article.

This observation is not arbitrary, it’s very 2026. League AVG this year is only .242, lowest since 1968 (even tho pitchers don’t bat now). A typical 2026 lineup only has 1 or 2 players hitting over .250. It used to be rare for any team to have even 3 players batting under .250, let alone seven!
Screen capture from the BleacherNation article showing a post by OptaSTATS, saying:

“The Cubs are the only MLB team in the last 50 years to have 7 different players who came into the inning batting .250 or worse get hits in the bottom of the 9th in the same game:
Busch (.242)
Happ (.233)
Hoerner (.250)
Ballesteros (231)
Suzuki (.239)
Swanson (.180)
PCA (.242)”

So, you don’t fact check sources anymore, just writing whatever anyone says as if it’s fact? And no editors? Biden was not POTUS when Trump was kicked off social media on January 7-9, 2021. And even if he was, he could not, as President, “censor” Trump or kick him off privately-owned websites.
A screen capture of 2 paragraphs from the originally posted article:

Craig Shirley, a presidential historian and biographer of President Ronald Reagan, said Mr. Trump's experience was so searing that he did not believe the president would improperly restrain others' free speech, whatever his public exhortations.

"We all especially know Biden used government to censor Trump, kicking him off many media platforms, a clear violation of the law," Mr. Shirley said. "As his own First Amendment rights were abridged, my guess is he's especially sensitive to anyone else seeing their First Amendment rights taken away."
