Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 05/06/2026Masters of the Universe (2026) - 3.5 🍌- Great music. They hit it out of the park with soundtrack. Jared Leto stands out as Skeletor. He steals the scene every second he is on screen. If this one fails it won’t be on him. Nicholas Galitzine is good as He-man/Adam. 100
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 05/06/2026Tuner - 4.5 🍌- Leo Woodall was great. His banter with Dustin Hoffman really sets the tone off the jump. A film with a lot of heart and an obvious love for music. Wonderful sound design. Subtle humor throughout. 100
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 29/05/2026Pressure - 4 🍌- When the movie started I wasn't sure why I should have cared about the weather before D-Day lol. For a while I was like well I know D-Day happened where is the hook? The set design and feel of the 40s is evident throughout. 100
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 25/05/20263.5 🍌- Mando and Grogu is nothing but an extended episode of the TV show. There is isn’t one thing wrong with that. You don’t have to have some galaxy defining moment in every Star Wars movie. Having said that the plot was simple and not overly complicated. 100
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 19/10/2025Welp. This is probably Mike McDaniels last game coaching. Tua buried him with this performance. Tua Turndaballova always shows up. 020
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 13/10/2025Tron Ares - 3 🍌- The music from NiN was amazing. From the opening Disney Castle logo to the final act. It had great bass and powerful beats. The special effects were top notch. The Grid looked amazing. The light vehicles all had great scenes. The trailer gave a lot of it away. Was there a plot? 🤷 😴 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 18/09/2025Fantastic 4 - 4 🍌- It was ight. The banter between the cast was a standout. PP always shows up for work, VK is stellar, EMB and JQ are just fantastic. At least Galactus wasn't a cloud this time. The story doesn't need other Marvel properties but ultimately doesn't stick the landing. Disney+ stream. 010
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 18/09/2025The Long Walk - 4 🍌 - An absolute brutal movie. Man you feel it when they get their tickets. Hoffman and Jonsson are fantastic leads with other various standouts throughout the trek. Its a good watch with sprinkled in humor throughout the indiscriminate loses. When you gotta go you gotta go ... 010
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 11/07/2025Superman 3.5 🍌- It was ight. I was really looking forward to it but it was just ok. It had some stand out moments but nothing as memorable as MoS or the original. JG has a hard time being serious with his dialogue which isn’t always a bad thing. Some missed opportunities here and there. 🤷 110
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 13/06/2025Ballerina - 3.5 🍌 - A solid action movie set in the JWU. ADA is gorgeous and deadly. They didn’t make her as OP as JW. She is a lot smaller and they play that up. Good world building in the 1st act. The 3rd act is kinda meh. Grenade-fu/Fire. JW shows up and does JW things. Worth admission. 030
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 13/06/2025The Life of Chuck - 5 🍌 - I went for MH and TH. MH deserves more roles. TH can mf’n dance. This film has sorrow and happiness wrapped in joy. Great music top to bottom. In usual SK fashion there is a twist. You see if coming but that is what makes it great. I contain multitudes. 010
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 26/05/2025Lilo and Stitch - 3.5 🍌- Truth be told I haven't seen the original. It had cute/funny moments. My kid enjoyed it and the other kids in the theatre seemed engaged. They could shave off a good 20/30 minutes and it would have been a lot leaner. The Lilo actress was excellent. Stitch is worth a stream. 010
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 24/05/2025Creature Commandos - 5 🍌- Gunn has his finger on the MF pulse. Hilarious banter, gruesome action and tugs at the heart strings. A great edition to DC. The voice acting and writing were top notch. It’s a quick 7 episodes. You can knock it out in one sitting. I’m even more excited for Superman now. 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 23/05/2025M:I Final Reckoning - 3 🍌 - They had 4 stunts then wrote a script to fill the dead air. It didn’t need to be 3 hours. HA had an odd reaction shot. A couple times TC looked like he had just woken up, was confused where he was. The action was decent but the story and dialogue were lame. Stream it. 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 16/05/2025The Last of Us S1 - 5 🍌- Wow that was intense. Great acting and writing. PP/BR have unmatched chemistry on screen. Joel was brutal and grieving. Ellie was broken but hopeful. Shout out to the dad jokes, the real hero. Why did the scarecrow get a promotion? Because he was outstanding in his field. 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 14/05/2025Andor S2 - Golden 🍌- This is peak SW. The writing, the acting, the set pieces, the action, the actors, the whole damn thing was amazing. Why can't KK get her shit together and recapture this magic? Rogue One has been by far the best Disney SW film to date. Andor is the spark. A must watch. K2S0 ;) 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 10/05/2025Fight or Flight - 3 🍌 - When there is nothing but dialogue the movie absolutely drags. The writing is nothing short of boring. The premise is even more laughable. I had a hard time keeping my eyes open. The action is fun and ridiculous. Go for the action fast forward the dialogue. Worth a stream. 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 05/05/2025Thunderbolts* - 3.5 🍌 - Solid Marvel movie. FP is an amazing actress. The star of the show. DH is top notch in every scene he is in. WR comes off a little annoying. Story was a little thin. Sentry feels a little overpowered like his comic counterpart. They will return in Doomsday. 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 15/01/2025Jason Bourne - 3 🍌 - MD clocks into work and absolute got a right hook upgrade. Dude didn't even have to load his arm cannons like Henry C. 👊 Feels like a tact'd on story we didn't really need. Doesn't rise to the greatest of the trilogy but worth a watch on Max. I'd watch another one. 020
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 14/01/2025Fury - 4 🍌- Gritty WW2 action flick. Got damn a lot of people lost their heads to tank fire. There goes another one lol. BP is always top notch. Clocks into work. JB was hamm'n it up a little. MP and SB were solid throughout. Did they have to do Emma like that lol? Good action movie. 020
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 14/01/2025Arcane S2 - 5 🍌- Simply put it was amazing. The art style is top notch. Honestly, I don't even know what the hell is going on half the time with all these time jumps. F' it who cares did you see that shit when Jinx was fighting that /redacted/. I mean holy 💩. More of this straight in my veins please 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 07/01/2025The Accountant - 4 🍌- Re-watch. What a ridiculously fun movie. Love Affleck. I love that they take an autistic man and make him essentially unstoppable. They highlight that Autism is very misunderstood. Not a lot of action but it goes hard when it does. Sequel this year in April. Color me excited. 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 07/01/2025What If...? S3 - 2 🍌- What happened to this show. No one cares about Chang Chi in the old west. Howard Duck? Agatha? The final arc was lame. Red Guardian and Riri episodes showed promise, but they were bookend by 💩. Disney should ask themselves what if we f up the Avengers movies? Not lookin' good. 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 07/01/2025Bookie S1 - 2.5 🍌 - Watchable. Kinda. Has moments where it keeps you entertained. Those moments are rare and fleeting. Maniscalco and Dorsey have good chemistry on screen. This is a Chuck Lorre show and that was surprising. Nepo Bookies shows a glimmer of hope for future seasons. If there are ... 100
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 07/01/2025Nosferatu - 4.5 🍌- This film established its tone from the get. Erie music and amazing vistas. Holt and Depp are amazing. Is that really Skarsgård? His transformation is wild. Count Orlok's shadow is menacing, and the visual representation is striking. I loathe scary films but this was great. 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 29/12/2024Sonic 3 - 4 🍌 - My man Shadow shines. Keanu’s voice pairs nicely with Shadow’s demeanor. Jim Carrey brings the fire with his dancing and physical humor. He is a perfect Robotnik. He seamlessly plays two different characters who are pretty much the same. Stay seated for the post credit scenes. Great. 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 21/12/2024Den of Thieves - 3.5 🍌- Solid action flick with a good heist sprinkled in. The family drama was shoehorned in and could have cut a clean 15-20 minutes from the runtime. Didn’t go anywhere wasn’t needed. Oh a hard nosed cop has trouble on the home front. Cover me surprised. Sequel next month. 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 19/12/2024Jedi Survivor - 4 🍌 - Respawn improved on Fallen Order across the board. Finally, limbs were a flyin’. Great lightsaber action and two new stances that are pretty much all you need. Engaging story and side quests. Great mini-boss battles that don’t make you wanna pull what’s left of your hair out. 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 19/12/2024Interstellar - 5 🍌 - I didn’t remember the entire film from the single watch ten years ago. What an experience in IMAX. The theatre was packed for a 6:45 show. I was completely engaged and loved every second. Jonah and Chris Nolan are absolutely the best cinema has to offer. Prestige next please!!!! 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 15/12/2024Carry-On - 4 🍌 - Bateman carries this Christmas adjacent thriller. Similar tones to Phone Booth. Bateman is channeling his best Marty. Egerton is a very convincing lead. Only one scene was a little campy. It’s a good Netflix movie and worth the two hour runtime. 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 06/12/2024The Order - 4 🍌 - The “Turner Diaries” are a chilling playbook for White Nationalists as depicted in the film. The film’s tension was beautifully displayed on Law’s face as he hunts for The Order’s leader played by Nicholas Hoult. Who is terrifyingly awesome throughout. Mostly dialogue. Good watch. 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 05/12/2024Lincoln Lawyer S3 - 3.5 🍌 - Another great season. The main court room story was really good. This show only has one issue and it’s the side characters. When Mickey isn’t on the screen the show drags. No one cares about the dance studio or the BAR exam. Hopefully it gets picked up for S4 by Netflix. 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 02/12/2024The Penguin - 4.5 🍌 - Still can’t believe that is Colin F in that makeup. I loved the Batman and this show enriches the lore. Great set pieces, story and character building. Totally worth the 8 episode arc. You don’t need to have seen the Batman to get into the show. Another banger courtesy of HBO. 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 28/11/2024Moana 2 - 3 🍌 - Decent sequel but never breaks new ground. Ok songs nothing great. I checked my watch a few times during the 90 minute runtime. The kid had a good time and it was basically for her. The best Disney movies have always kept the adults engaged. This one not so much. 000
Johnny B @johnnybananas.bsky.social · 23/11/2024Gladiator II - 3.5 🍌 Was I entertained do you ask? Mildly … the film pretty much is a sequel trope at its core. Never really breaking new ground. A lot of familiar tones, many lifted from the first one verbatim. Well acted for the most part. Denzel never disappoints. Fun watch but not great. 010
