I am not yet visually impaired, but I am old and have glaucoma and I gently scold people for not using alt-text a lot. So speaking from that perspective I think your approach is acceptable and even good.

I'm just guessing, but he seems to have made a hobby of blocking and reporting people who try to follow him without permission and bsky tells me he is followed by an account called Cats of New Hampshire, so maybe he has you confused with that account?
