A couple days walking Holy Island have been superb for clearing one’s head. Huge arrivals of SongThrush yesterday along with Robins galore, a Redstart, 2 Yellow-browed warbler it was relatively quiet today - but two Yellow browed Warbler and Richard’s Pipit maintained the autumn vibes #NEBirding

Birding is really good for wellbeing (sometimes). A couple of hours on the patch provided Whinchat, Merlin (year ✅!), Greenshank, 2 Ruff, Common Sandpiper and a dapper Spotted Redshank (a really good bird in Cramlington). Some of these in the attached iPhone video 📽️ #NEbirding

Fantastic CR read on a Polish limosa that's given Northumberland birders their first county record of L3. Really interesting to see that the moult state is almost identical to the current Cley bird, lending weight to the theory that ours is also from further away than usual. @johnmalloy.bsky.social
