COVID-19: The Elephant in the Room Everyone Keeps Ignoring @pacoonpause.bsky.social Source: x.com/PacoOnPause/...
A screenshot of a social media thread discussing Long COVID. The top post is by PACO (@PacoOnPause) and states: "Most people won't admit or even consider that they have Long COVID. Instead, they just have mystery health problems that are only mysterious if we ignore thousands of studies and pretend that COVID isn't a vascular disease that everyone keeps getting reinfected with."
Embedded below it is a quoted post from "Suzaku has Long Covid/MECFS 🥴🍉" (@Suzaku_is_tired), which is outlined in a thin black hand-drawn loop. The quote details medical struggles of four friends aged 30–40: Friend 1 had a stroke and is applying for disability; Friend 2 was diagnosed with a rare neuroimmune disorder; Friend 3 sees doctors constantly and was told it is perimenopause; Friend 4 was told their articulation pain is "all in my head." Scientists and experts warned COVID could spread through airborne aerosols, but infection-control leaders relied on outdated views of aerosol transmission. The assumption that COVID couldn’t be airborne was a mistake, based on thinking already described as illogical in a 2006 SARS Commission report.
A screenshot of a CTV News online article headline reads, "'Outdated' health policies surrounding Covid still pose a danger today, says U of C researcher." The byline attributes the piece to Tommy Osborne, published September 18, 2026, at 6:23 p.m. EDT.
Below the headline is a photograph of a male researcher, identified in the caption as Dr. Mark Ungin. He is wearing a white lab coat and a white face mask while walking through a brightly lit laboratory room. The lab environment is crowded with scientific instruments, including a complex robotic testing assembly with a Formlabs 3D printer sitting on a foreground workbench, storage shelving filled with cardboard boxes, and various desktop laboratory tools stretching into the background.
The caption text underneath the photograph reads: "Dr. Mark Ungin is raising concerns surrounding health policy and Canada’s COVID response."

Moving on from COVID-19 by abandoning our protections is like surviving a house fire and throwing away the smoke detectors. Ignoring the risk doesn’t make it go away. Source: x.com/MementoMousi...
Screenshot of a post by Mouse 🐭 (@MementoMousie) comparing society’s response to COVID with surviving a house fire. The post says it is like everyone experienced a house fire 3–6 years ago, then began unplugging smoke detectors and throwing away fire extinguishers because they didn’t want to think about it. If their house catches fire again, they ignore it. The author says the frustrating part is showing people evidence that fire can be extinguished so they don’t have to live in fear, but they still ignore it and no one admits the situation is unsafe and unnecessary.

This reply nails it. 🎯 Source: x.com/LadyChuan/st...
An image of a thread on social media platform X from July 8, 2026.
The initial post by ABG (@taureanlady5) expresses concern about the frequency of young people experiencing severe medical events. It reads: "What is up with all these folks my age having strokes? Seems like strokes in our forties was almost unheard of 20, 25 years ago. This is so scary. Getting my next physical soon."
A detailed reply by Lady Chuan (@LadyChuan) links these health trends directly to long-term post-viral effects. The comment reads: "Do better. Wear. A. Mask. KN95 or better. I'm quite sure that you know by now COVID is a CHRONIC VASCULAR DISEASE that enters the body by a virus called SARS which INITIALLY presents itself as a respiratory illness."
The reply goes on to claim that the virus persists in the endothelial lining, leading to a over 50% increase in strokes, heart attacks, and embolisms, a 67% increase in cancer, T-cell destruction, immune disorders, and that common "colds" are frequently undetected cases.
