An image showing the street entrance of a small cafe in a large glass office building. The large windows reflect the trees lining the sidewalk and another building across the street, along with a pedestrian checking his phone as he walks along. The image was taken using a camera setting that renders the scene in black & white except for one color, in this case blue. I wanted to isolate the blue design above the cafe's name, and I think that works well here. The midday sun creates some complimentary shadows, which always attracts my attention.

On the right is a long line of buildings along a wide sidewalk, and in the right foreground stands a hot dog/sausage vendor with several customers lined up and waiting. In the left-center foreground, facing the camera, a father walks with his two young daughters, holding their hands, searching for the correct entrance gate. When I attended my first game here, one player hit a home run over the left field wall and netting (the seats hadn't existed then) that landed on the upper level of a two-story parking garage at the far end of this street. The game, the moment, and the setting all made an indelible impression on one eleven-year old boy who thought he might just be in heaven.........

This is a color image taken in the late evening, after the sun had dropped below the horizon. Tall, dark pine trees frame both sides of the image, and a blue cloud bank frames the top. In the center the pale blue sky gradually turns pink closer to the dark tree line across the lake, interspersed with some scattered clouds just above the treetops. The lake reflects the pink colors in the center foreground, with some dark weeds and rocks breaking the surface at the bottom of the frame.
