Ha, they were ahead of their time using cassettes. When I was 12, I taped it on my parents reel-to-reel deck, and then randomly taped Casey Kasem’s 1974 Year-end countdown on the rest of the tape.

Double anniversary: 40 years since winning the Game that got them to their 1st Super Bowl; and 20 years since the 20th anniversary of that game that was also the Doug Flutie dropkick game. Awesome being at Gillette for that one.

Saw them 2 weeks later at a general admission show in Hartford. Connecticut was so backward, even after Combat Rock nobody had heard of them—wasn't even sold out. Still have a full extra ticket I couldn't unload. Awesome show, but I wish I remembered the details better. 10 dollars and 50 cents...

Random things found while cleaning my studio: The Boston propeller beanie I got the legendary Bill Rodgers to wear for a Running Times photo shoot. I art directed RT for couple years in the mid 90s, and got away with some crazy things.
