I watched Big for the first time, and yeah that giant keyboard scene is iconic for a reason. The charm is off the charts in that scene it's crazy. The movie needed more Robert Loggia honestly, fantastic performance

This poster for Ray Gunn rocks, extremely keen to see Bird's animated action directing once again

RIP Terry Denton! His collaborations with Andy Griffiths were iconic. Especially his work in the "Just" short story collections, those things were foundational for younger me.

Saturday afternoon is a good time for a de Palma rewatch:

I think I need to take more photos of my stuff with my cutting mat for the background, really dig how this looks. The pattern for my Camp Miasma cross stitch piece is live too in case you missed it! Link in bio 🩸

This is what I've got so far for horror movies I want to watch this spooky season. All first watches, what do y'all think? Would love to see if people have their own lists!

This is such a blast. It's so great to see Cregger's growing confidence, especially in directing super kinetic action. It works amazing here when mirroring the experience of playing the games, so fluid and immersive! Kind of a perfect 90-minute thrill ride.

Beyond stoked for this one, new Cregger is always cause for celebration! Now watching:

I think the reason the VFX in Hope didn't bug me as much as I thought they would is because everything around them is so well executed. The blocking, camera movement, performances, stunts, everything else are so pitch perfect that I don't mind.

Added the first couple audiobooks to my miniature bookshelf They were super fun to make, I've already got a bunch of others lined up to print haha

My wife 3D printed me a mini bookshelf, so now I have a shelf-on-a-shelf to make mini versions of the audiobooks and ebooks I read. Will update my progress as I go with this one, should be a fun project!

Hope is an absolute ride! Stunningly shot in these sick superwide angles, with this pulsing sense of momentum that carries it between characters and movements. There's some puzzling stuff in here, and sure some of the effects are bumpy, but it's such a thrill. Very funny too!

Ever since this first screened at Cannes, then that absolutely unreal first trailer, and now the fascinating reactions, I am so so keen to see what this thing is. Now watching!

Final Fantasy 15 is just a real charming time. Love wandering around the world fishing and camping.

Adam @johngudmann.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

Seriously terrific stuff. Quite different from the other Scorseses I've seen, but still unmistakably his. Ellen Burstyn is absolutely electrifying here, and a young Alfred Lutter kills it alongside her. The small towns are all so beautifully framed here.

Happy Friday folks! Hope you all have some nice weekend plans. Went for a nice walk this morning and came across this wagtail. Incredible birds. Later this afternoon I took June outside for some (supervised) rolling around on the warm bricks. She's obsessed 🌞

It's very rare my local Kmart has cool merch let alone Godzilla, so I had to get one Didn't realise it came with a sick embroidered patch, gotta add it to one of my hats 🔥

Adam @johngudmann.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

I really enjoyed this one! A low-key, quiet apocalyptic Western all about finding a place to plant yourself. It bears closer resemblance to Death Stranding or -filmwise - The Postman (which I love). Filled with apocalyptic images but the natural world takes centre-stage here.

Wanted to catch this one before it left theatres! Now watching:

finally catching up on It: Welcome to Derry. Good show! I wonder if Bill Skarsgard was influenced by Daniel Plainview for his 1908 Pennywise? It's uncanny.

The size and scale of Conan is so sick, I love the varied landscapes and just how many scenes they bpacked with people. Tha snake cult is sick too, I wanted more of it! Arnold puts this movie on his back as his big breakout, and he totally crushed it.
