The one player joining the Mets contingent in the Arizona Fall League in 2026 that did not see time on the IL is Right-Handed Pitcher Brendan Girton.
Drafted in 2024, Brendan started 2025 in Brooklyn where he shined. After throwing 5 perfect innings with a 6 Ks in a no June decision, he was named the South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week for June 10-15, 2025. He also threw 10 straight outings where he allowed 1 or fewer runs. His 2025 Brooklyn record: 3-3, 2.59 ERA, 91 Ks in 76.1 innings, 34 walks, 1.114 WHIP.
Brendan started off the 2026 season in the Binghamton rotation, but after he went 1-4 with a 6.71 ERA in 15 games, 57.2 innings as a starter, he moved to the bullpen. After a few rocky multi-inning relief outings, Brendan settled in to a 1-inning relief role where he faired much better. Not counting one bad 4-run outing, he posted a 1.64 ERA in 11 innings, 9 Ks, 2 walks, 6 hits, 1 HR.
