Sure, I get that. But isn't that similar for Canada? They seem happy being part of the country. I guess I don't see it as colonialism if they wanted to join the US or UK or Canada, or separate from the Danes for that matter. But all I see is the "leave them alone they're not interested" meme

we could split California into 3, add Greenland, split NYC from upstate NY, and you'd have a fairly round number of 15 states to add. Split CT (or Mass) and include Puerto Rico and you get 17, which would work perfectly with the flag (adding 2 rows evenly). Just an idea for the design conscious 😂
