johne @johne.denvr.social.ap.brid.gy · 20/08/2026Yay, getting PPF film fixed. Just dropped off car. Sadly edges are peeling up in several spots and a likely hasty install job trapped small pebbles under the film. 000 0
johne @johne.denvr.social.ap.brid.gy · 09/08/2026Yesterday was International Cat Day, and Oscar stopped by to enjoy our porch, scritches, and treats on three occasions, but I got no photos. BA day late isn’t bad, right? 010 1
johne @johne.denvr.social.ap.brid.gy · 09/08/2026I’m old. I used to race bikes on tubular tires. Most of these used latex tubes which make a wonderful sound as they roll. So despite tubeless being a thing I use latex tubes in regular clincher tires. I’m not sure why I got a flat yesterday, but I was able to patch last night. 000 0

johne @johne.denvr.social.ap.brid.gy · 02/08/2026The old bearings, seals, and something extra. one race wouldn’t go in straight and I had to remove a sliver of aluminum from the hub shell. it also left a little lip that I was able to remove just with a screw driver. these “old” bearing races look fine and feel […] [Original post on denvr.social] 010 1
johne @johne.denvr.social.ap.brid.gy · 28/07/2026aaaah. the minor issues with this new to me bike continue. Front hub felt yucky even with new bearings so I ordered new races. Then I noticed the other wheel also had play when installed in the fork. Turns out the through axle isn’t one piece and the head was […] [Original post on denvr.social] 000 0

johne @johne.denvr.social.ap.brid.gy · 15/07/2026this is the second ipod I’ve found within a block of my house. Just needs a battery and a not cracked piece of clear plastic. holy crap what a tiny spiny hard-drive. a flash card to sd card converter is $20. This is better than using my old iphone 4 as a music player. 110 1
johne @johne.denvr.social.ap.brid.gy · 11/07/2026I get to do this a third time. First I forgot one of the air ducts. Now that it’s in again I forgot the support beam that ties the two sides of the car together but fits under the dash. 000 0
johne @johne.denvr.social.ap.brid.gy · 10/07/2026Not done yet, (the PPF film guy still has to cover it and one fender), but OMG this looks so good. 000 0
johne @johne.denvr.social.ap.brid.gy · 09/07/2026more fixing Corrado stuff. This is the trim panel that goes around the steering column. This screw boss was filled with epoxy, drilled, and tapped but I added a little more epoxy for support. And hopefully more fabric tape will helpthe squeaking. 000 0
johne @johne.denvr.social.ap.brid.gy · 07/07/2026It’s working. Also, steering wheels are overrated. A lot more wiring is now free of its crumbling foam and wrapped with cloth tape. 000 0

johne @johne.denvr.social.ap.brid.gy · 27/06/2026I hate internal cable routing. This is the Time bb shell, the housing stop/cable guide, and the cable end. Whoever first setup this bike was a moron: no inline cable adjuster, rear housing too small a radius (campy derailleurs don’t like that). 100 1
