I imagine a piece of this is discoverability; there are plenty of companies that don’t care how bad it looks, they go after small creators all the time, but if they can’t easily find proof of your infringement (eg a social media post of your sold Pikachu art), they are less likely to take action.

I think this is totally true, but I still have anxiety that I’m in some way shutting a door on someone by not starting from the very beginning with everything, which I know is counterproductive (it would add a ton of pages to every single game I make!).

This is a balance I wrestle with a lot as a writer and designer. I consider it critical to not even implicitly gatekeep by assuming understanding that would stymie first-timers, but I don’t want to lose the richness and depth that many players and GMs (rightfully!) expect from a game.

Definitely; I’ve heard that context, and I’d still argue that even without knowing the plot of Wandavision at all, it’s still (1) a really bad choice given Wanda’s arc in the rest of the non-Wandavision MCU and (2) poorly executed.

I’m still furious about the choice to make Wanda the villain. Completely disagree with that choice. And even if I could get past that, they go WAY too far with it, she’s cartoonishly evil. The movie feels like such a missed opportunity!!!

I totally hear you! This feels similar to my gripe, (although I do like MTG): I don’t want to be in adversarial relationship with the other player(s)! I want to go “whoa, that’s so cool!” when they bust out a cool synergy, or try an approach I’ve never seen before. I think I want PvE MTG?

It’s hard to choose a favorite, I love them all for different reasons! The first one’s face paint has really great detail, the clothing details on the winter and hat ones are exquisite, and the armor and face on the last are really wonderful!
