Garden wildlife. The vixen (the mother of the cubs) came to be fed quite early today at about 17.00. The cubs were a bit later as usual, and it was by then getting dark. 🧡🦊 #londonwildlife

Garden wildlife. A lovely Zoropsis spinimana on the shed last night. Possibly my favourite spider, and one I've seen fairly regularly here over the last few years. And a second one was inside the shed too - only underside views of that one, but they're quite distinctive! @britishspiders.bsky.social

2/2. And that one was curled up asleep in an old bird bath I no longer use because it's cracked and leaks. 'White tip' did subsequently move to sleep close to its sibling, interacting with it a bit too. 🧡🦊🦊 #londonwildlife

Garden wildlife. 1/2. Some photos of Fox cubs from today. These first four are of 'white tip', the second in which it's clearly very relaxed! When it move to the position in the 4th photo I noticed movement behind it, and saw a second cub where I didn't expect - see 2/2 for more!

Garden wildlife. One of the Fox cubs (white tip) sleeping in the garden earlier today. It eventually got up and went to join a sibling sleeping in the garden next door, during which time its other sibling appeared but didn't stay. 🧡🦊🦊🦊 #londonwildlife

House wildlife. I mentioned a couple of days ago that in recent nights I've had a Giant House Spider (Eratigena sp.) running back and forth in the living room. Last night I managed to get a phone photo of him when he stopped briefly by my slipper. @britishspiders.bsky.social

Garden birding. A Chiffchaff paid a visit to the garden this morning to use the bird bath. These photos were taken just after that, when it was preening. This is a bird I often see/hear locally, but very rarely in the garden. #londonbirds

Local wildlife. There are still Common Blue butterflies (Polyommatus icarus) visiting the wildflower area at West Sutton station, particularly when it's sunny. This slightly worn male was one of at least two there this afternoon. @savebutterflies.bsky.social #londonwildlife

Local wildflowers. I saw this climbing Rose with striking red thorns at Mitcham Junction Tram stop yesterday. I presume it's a wild flower, but I've not been able to identify it conclusively.

Local wildflowers. I found what I think is a Wild Cyclamen plant (Cyclamen hederifolium) at Quadrant House, Sutton, this morning. Oddly, it didn't appear to have any leaves. #londonwildlife
