I don't know why it is so funny that a Tesla Dumpster is parked outside. I am surprised it isn't condos already.

I see this, and I recognize aspects of it. Is this hand colored? We didn't have cheap color copies back then. I recognize ink density info, There are annotations across the color, so this is not what they would mechanically separate from. It feels like color direction, How does this turn into print?

It's right there. We occasionally get them landing right on the screen, and the close up sound can be quite alarming!

I tried inking some of that John Byrne X-Men Elesewhen thing, and found it to be a bit trickier than I expected. I was too literal, and should have gone where the hair suggested, rather than take the line literally I think.
Partially inked and colored image over John Byrne blue lines.

I see that I left out the middle bit while trying to skirt the character limit. Rob shared that screenshot on his FB page, and wrote a screed. I responded to that post and he did not like it. Later I wrote the the text of this screenshot to some friend. Finding cruelty in what I wrote was absurd.
"There was absolutely no cruelty in my wording, and really only a small difference of opinion about the intent of a third party's post that he took as criticism of an artist friend of his (Herb Trimpe) who died some time back. I am guessing he did not like my suggestion that the original poster might not have been meaning everything to be as personal as he was taking it while acknowledging that using anyone as an example to make his point was pretty crass. I shared a link to an article about how Trimpe picked himself up after a professional setback, and how much that story has meant to me over time, and said that for whatever reason, it was nice that so many of us were talking about the man and his work years after his passing. I have been dropped by a lot of people for political and personal reasons, and I wish everyone well. This feels a bit worse, and I am writing this here because there is literally nowhere else to write it. I dislike being mischaracterized and found it strange that I got booted for something he had clicked "like" on some 13 hours earlier."

You got me to go back an look at what we both wrote at the time. It was not long after Trimpe's death. Someone else made a social media post that I will show (I remembered the wrong image), RL reacted negatively. I don't remember exactly what I said, but RL considered me to be an "apologist".

Rob and I were fandom friends back when we were both in high school. We roomed at cons together back in the 80s. We used to talk on the phone back when that cost a fortune. He blocked me a couple years back over the gentlest disagreement about whether this Herb Trimpe drawing was good.

Here's a bit I was able to sink my teeth into. There are nooks and crannies I can noodle on and not weaken it. I love Wood and especially Severin over Kirby because it turns into something new without just laminating the pencils. They always found room for themselves in the collaboration.

Been drawing all day. While I have never really understood "cooldowns", I did wanna draw something for fun. So I started doing lines over some Kirby pencils. His is so wonderfully hard to ink for me. He forces me to make choices I don't wanna make. Inserting anything of myself feels unwelcome.
Black lines over blue pencils depicting a devil dinosaur and a moonboy.

It's kind of a sloppy proof of concept, but I designed and printed these brackets to gather and protect my T5 and T7 SSDs. It's working out really well. Not worth printing again since it's working out fine, but I will sand them.

A friend gave me a very generous gift card to my LCS some time ago, & I've been twisting myself into knots figuring out what to get with it. Then I noticed that some random boxes had a small pile of affordable 10¢ comics in it, and that price tag always seemed like magic to me. Love me some old DC!
5 old comic books. 4 Adventure comics, and one Detective comics. I have not checked the dates, but probably all circa 1960

I come across this drawing every once in a while from back when I used to quick-doodle in public. I t's bad because I was also carrying on a conversation. The old old Hot Dougs that had the fire. We knew what we had, and everyone appreciated it, but maybe we should have appreciated it even more?

I am a big fan of Pete Bagge, going way back to his Weirdo/Neat Stuff days Although a legitimate case can be made that his chronicling of Buddy Bradly and his family is what he will be remembered for, I have to say that his 2013 biography of Margaret Sanger, "Woman Rebel", is his finest achievement

Every once in a while, I try to ink some Jack Kirby sketch. I think his best inkers submitted to him (Chic Stone being my favorite), except for the very best inkers who laminated him with their own styles. A best of both, like Wood and Severin. I don't see any of that in my effort, which frustrates.

Near as I can figure, this is what is going on under that dress. Except, nothing was ever going on under that dress. There were never any real legs, and in the attempt to create an image where none existed before, no one, not even a computer, mapped out where the legs would be.

I long for the unending disappointment people would be expressing right now for President Harris not having made everything perfect already. America got bored with prosperity and the ability to occasionally do noble things.
A broken system requires fixing. If that system is central to our lives, there is no benefit in entrusting it to people promising to destroy it. We can make the Democratic party better, or we can be murdered (fast or slow) by the Republicans. There is no choice there for me.

Been well over a year since I wrote this, which inexplicably drew a hostile reaction. Everything is indeed much worse now, for us, our children, and for Palestine. The worst Dem is better than the best Republican. It does not mean that we need to accept the worst Dem, but we have to be pragmatic.

Biden has never been this far to the left in his life. I hope he can be dragged further, but right now, there is no better realistic option. For the US or Palestine"

Today's comics pick ups! Or most of them. I had a gift card for the shop. I was super close to using it to pay for most of a Hate box set, but the chance to fill in some holes in my 4th World collection was too tempting. I already had the Glory Bost issue, but it is so good I wanted it again.
